Clearly our care did not meet your expectations. For your experience of all this, I do sincerely apologise. I can understand how upsetting this has been for you. I also want to assure you that we take these concerns very seriously and this is not the family experience we strive for. An investigation into this matter included a review of your husband's care records and interviews with the staff that took care of him. The investigation concluded that 1. Your husband was very severely frail (his needs-based coding was Amber) and he became acutely unwell soon after being admitted to the care home. 2. Your husband was in our care for 7 days and was reviewed by a GP on two separate occasions (9th May and again on 11th May) and medication was prescribed. 3. The decision was made to transfer your husband to the hospital due to him having uncontrolled symptoms. 4. Staff attempted to update you numerous times in regards to your husband's condition but you would not engage with them.
