In all cases regarding special diets, we would follow the guidance given by the medical professionals and what is stated on the hospital discharge notice. In this case, there was no such guidance. Regarding the falls, as you are aware there are other mitigating circumstances and following recent intervention the situation has been significantly improved. As to your comment about intervention being slow, as a care home, we work with relatives, external agencies, and specialist support services to deliver the best possible care for our residents. Regarding finding the resident on the floor, we were not made aware of this, if this had been raised with us, we would have been able to investigate the issue. We would never restrict visits, just because a person had raised concerns. However, there may be circumstances which result in some restrictions on visitation to protect the well-being of our residents.
