The standards at the Home remain the same if not getting better as we recruit more and more experienced care and nursing staff. Mr M was with his wife in the lounge where a carer was present. He asked carer to get something from his wife's room. At this point he started to help his wife get up and she fell to the floor. The carer returned and helped her get comfortable. There is no history of falls and the fall she had was directly due to his actions. This was witnessed by 2 other residents, both of whom have given statements. Mr M has a history of complaints, all of which have been properly addressed. The Spanish carer for example, is a very experienced carer (10+ years in a care home) and came to us from another care home. There has never been an incident where a resident is left in their night clothes all day.Mr M moved his wife to another care home. We waived the notification period. He now wants to bring her back which we declined. It has resulted in this feedback.
