We are sorry you feel dissatisfied with Westwood's care for your Mother. Older care homes like ours often have a mix of single and larger shared rooms, carefully allocated based on needs, preferences and mobility. Shared rooms can sometimes be better situated for a resident with the added benefit of companionship, and all residents receive the same high standard of care. A temporary move was discussed with your Mother while her radiator was fixed. In agreement with her, your family and social workers, she was happy to stay in the shared room, especially due to a recent decline in her mobility. We were happy to confirm receipt of your written request for a ground-floor, single room when available. The suggestion that your Mother was "treated very badly" does not reflect the care we observed or recorded. External healthcare professionals raised no concerns, and she was settled, sociable, and happy at Westwood. We are proud of the care we provided and wish her well in her new home.
