Recruitment and retention of good quality, caring staff is always a priority in care homes but does sometimes present challenges.  Our home actually has a very strong retention rate, with many permanent staff having been with us since we opened.  Our planned activity schedule is varied and inclusive, and whilst we encourage residents to participate, some residents are unable, and some may choose not to take part on a particular day.  When this is the case, plans can be changed at short notice to meet the preferences of the residents.
