Thank you for highlighting areas you feel we can improve on in Tranent Care Home. We acknowledge your concerns regarding the bedrooms and bathrooms and will update residents and their families as upgrades are planned. Any repairs needing to be undertaken in the meantime are addressed as they are identified by our colleagues. If visitors to the home identify areas of concern, we are very appreciative if these are highlighted so we can take action to address them. We want our residents to feel comfortable and at home while they are staying with us and are happy to decorate their bedrooms to their wishes. It is important to us that residents feel at home and have input into the environment they are living in. Residents’ needs are assessed on an ongoing basis, and any equipment identified as being needed for safety and comfort are purchased. Once again, we would encourage relatives and friends to speak with colleagues if they have any concerns. Resident safety and comfort are our priority. Activities are on offer 7 days a week in the home. Each resident is given an activity planner at the start of each month so they know what is happening in the home each day. There is also a copy on the noticeboard in each community. Our colleagues will be more than happy to provide a copy of the planner to friends and relatives if requested. All residents have a care plan in place detailing the types of activities they enjoy participating in and are encouraged to do so regularly. We are always open to suggestions and ideas for new activities that our residents may enjoy.
