Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We are genuinely sorry that your mother's short stay with us did not meet your expectations, but we feel it is important to address several points to provide clarity and reassurance for others reading this review. Resident Safety and Room Entry We understand how distressing it can be when a resident feels their privacy has been disturbed. However, it is important to note that incidents of residents entering another room are extremely uncommon, and when they do occur, they are typically related to cognitive impairments such as dementia. We now have clear protocols in place to minimise these occurrences, including sensor mats. regular night checks, door signage, and staff monitoring. Based on our internal records, the incident reported was addressed promptly by our night team, who ensured your mother was safe and supported and management took measures to ensure your mothers comfort and safety Staffing Levels and Care Team Availability We would like to clarify that our staffing levels comply with all regulatory requirements and are regularly reviewed to ensure residents receive the appropriate level of care. We also use agency support when needed to maintain safe staffing. While we fully acknowledge that new residents may require more reassurance during their first few days, at no stage was your mother left without access to care or unattended support. Our team documented regular check-ins during her stay, including assistance with daily living and wellbeing monitoring. Adjustment Period Transitioning into a new care environment can be unsettling. It is very common for residents to need a short settling-in period before routines and surroundings become familiar and comfortable. Because your mother stayed only four days, the full assessment and personalised care plan-typically developed over the first few weeks-had not yet been completed. This may have contributed to her discomfort before adequate adjustments could be made. Communication With Families We always encourage families to share any concerns immediately so that we can address them in real time. Our records indicate that the concerns were raised shortly before the decision to withdraw your mother, which limited our ability to implement solutions or increase support as needed. Our Commitment We are proud of the standard of care we provide and the dedication of our staff. While we respect your decision, we also feel it is important to reassure others that this review does not reflect the typical experience of our residents or their families. We truly wish your mother comfort, safety, and wellbeing moving forward. Kind regards N Sadek Manager Westwood Rest Home
