Staff turnover has been reviewed and there are 2 new domestics to replace the staff who have retired. There are also 2 new care staff who are covering for staff who are on maternity leave.
The name of the key worker is clearly documented within the care plan, and the key worker explains the proposed plan of care to the resident and relative on admission, and asks for their input to ensure that they are happy with it.
The family are usually informed when a resident is seen by a GP or a district nurse, especially if the health concern is significant.
When staff are informed of external appointments, these are placed in the diary so that they are aware that a resident will be going out and at what time.
Fingernails are checked daily as part of personal care to ensure that they are clean and neat. Toenails are also kept clean, and a chiropody appointment arranged as required.
