Response to the complaint dated 25th July 2017, from Louise Iris Mitchell a resident within Homewood.
•    Food uninteresting
We have discussed this with Iris that the menus have been changed to ensure that when we are planning menus we are making sure that the meals have a high nutritional content, that they include a variety and seasonally fresh vegetables. We also make sure that there is wholemeal bread, wholegrain breakfast cereals pulses, vegetables and fruit. The meals are a really important part of the service we offer and we would like to maintain a high standard of choice and nutrition. Iris has confirmed that she is happy with the new menu’s now.

•    Items running out i.e. Yoghurt, Prunes, Apple Juice.
After discussion with Iris we have discovered that these items are available in Homewood, but unfortunately, on this occasion, a member of staff did not collect them for her. This has now been discussed in our staff meetings and all staff have been advised that as part of MHA Values, it is not appropriate not to assist anyone who asks for items from the kitchen.

•    Very noisy at night
After discussion with Iris, it was found that a member of staff entered Iris’s bedroom during the night to replace her care file, at an inappropriate time of night. This has now been discussed with all care staff and instructions have been given that care files must not be placed into rooms during the night hours.
