Thank you for your review. Further to your comments, we would like to assure you that the level of care your mother receives at Kintyre Care Home, is of the highest standard as illustrated by our most recent Care Inspectorate Report. The Care Inspectorate regulates our care services and undertakes unannounced inspections before recently awarding us with their highest grade, 6, for our Quality of Care and Support at Kintyre. Your sister, a regular visitor at the home, who has Welfare Power of Attorney over your mother, has consistently stated her high level of satisfaction with the level of care your mother receives.
With reference to your observation on our common areas, we would like to advise you that Kintyre Care Home has been designed in conjunction with Stirling University’s Dementia Services Unit and is at the forefront of dementia design and layout, having won awards in both categories.
As you are aware, the increased costs mentioned, are a result of your mother’s increased care needs. As identified in your mother’s reviews with your sister (Welfare Power of Attorney), her Social Worker and Key Worker from Pacific Care, which you do not attend, your mother’s health requires her to now be in a specialised unit with higher dependency/staffing ratios for her own well being.
We wish to assure you that your mother’s personal care and well being, is a very important part of the service we offer, throughout her day, both physically and emotionally. However, your mother’s condition can on occasion make these interactions more difficult than others, and her Welfare Power of Attorney has assured us that she is very satisfied with the way in which her mother is being cared for.
We would be delighted to welcome you to future meetings regarding your mum’s care, and as always, will be happy to address any questions you may have.
