Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are delighted to hear that you feel the staff at the home are caring and that Sandon House is a good home. We are very sorry for the distress you have experienced regarding messages and requests not being passed on. The Home Manager has discussed this with the staff team and outlined the importance of ensuring that these are dealt with in a timely manner. We apologise you have found the food repetitive and bland. Residents are offered a choice of nutritious foods and fluids throughout the day and night to ensure they have the opportunity to eat and drink a balanced diet. HC-One strives to offer the highest level of nutrition and hydration to meet individual Resident needs in keeping with kind care. To maintain Residents' dietary needs, a four-week menu cycle has been produced which changes twice a year for the summer and winter seasons. The menus and recipes are reviewed biannually and changed for the spring and autumn seasons. Residents are encouraged to taste new recipes and sample new menu items. The three main meals of the day - breakfast, lunch and evening meals all have a minimum of two courses and alternative choices are available for those Residents who do not wish to eat the meal options prepared; this is offered on an individual basis to cater for Residents who have personal food preferences. We would like to offer reassurance that the wellbeing coordinator responsible for activity provision at Sandon House consistently ensures the planned activities advertised within the home do take place. We recognise how important these are to the wellbeing of all our Residents; the activities within the home are always under review to ensure they are enjoyed by as many Residents as possible. Many Thanks, Clare Sheehan Careline Advisor.
