Thank you so much for your review - we loved reading your kind comments, particularly regarding the care and food at Langley Oaks and will pass them onto the team who I'm sure will be delighted with the feedback. However, I was very sorry to hear that your wife did feel a little isolated at the home. We do realise, even for short-term respite care, it can sometimes be a little difficult to get comfortable in a new environment with new people. I believe that the team did try and encourage your wife to join in some activities and visit other areas of the home, but she often didn't feel like this was something she wanted to do - in this case, we would always respect the resident's wishes, but of course offer one-to-one activities, and always try to encourage them along to the next activity taking place instead. I'd like to reassure you we do have lots of activities taking place every day in the home, as well as lots of outings (recent trips have included Brighton, for afternoon teas and to local parks) - perhaps if she came back for another stay with us, now she is more familiar with the home and team, she may feel more able to join in. Of course, if there's also an activity that you think your wife would enjoy that is not in our schedule, we would be more than happy to look at adding this for you too. Many thanks again, and please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of help in the future.
