This man had very complex needs. His next of kin was his wife who loved him dearly and visited every day. The review has been written by his son who neither the home manager or myself had met and we have not heard from before. Whilst he was with us we always accommodated his wife and they shared several meals together, she particularly enjoyed Christmas lunch. We used to arrange a weekly trip to a local community centre to play bingo and socialise with people from outside of the home.
Yesterday we received flowers and a card from his wife. It said: “just want to say to you all my heartful thanks for the care, love, and friendship shown to my darling ********* while he was in your care. He had his special friends and you know who. Also many thanks for the love and friendship shown to myself and for your bravery shown in this very difficult time. Love to you all, take care. Love from ***** and *********”
We have not lost staff but we have had people isolating as per COVID guidelines.
