I am sorry to hear these comments as we have not reduced any staff. We have a dependency tool that informs the management team of how many staff hours are required for all the residents and never go below the recommendations; the deployment of staff is also included as to the times the residents' needs are required. We are lucky to be fully staffed with our own staff. It has been a difficult year this year and everyone in the industry has felt the stress. Night staff do have less duties because most residents are asleep at night and this is reflected in the staffing hours deployed. I will however be increasing night staff visits to ensure they are managing the workload effectively throughout the night. The lead nurses who do both day and nights including weekends have not raised this as an issue so I will clarify with them also. I would like to assure you the day and night care shifts have the same amount of staff seven days a week.
