Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We regret that you had a negative experience and will use this as an opportunity to improve. In our records, we have always dealt with your sister, as your Mother’s designated next of kin. She visited your mum regularly, sometimes with the grandchildren. In regards to your Mother, she was receiving palliative care and was weak. We always inform the designated next of kin of any changes to a resident's condition and had regular contact with your sister. For GDPR purposes, there is not much information we can disclose over the telephone with people who are not the designated next of kin. When our beloved residents pass away we inform the next of kin immediately. We also ask if they would like us to inform anyone else, and on this occasion, your sister insisted that she would contact other family members. We would like the opportunity to find out how we can better assist you in the future. If you are willing, please contact us.
