We fully acknowledge that the restrictions on visiting that we were required to implement during the pandemic caused upset for our residents and their relatives.  Our priority has always been to keep our vulnerable residents safe. At all times we followed government guidance on visiting.  <br>We do not underestimate how difficult the initial period of the pandemic was for relatives and residents and we understand the frustrations of family members.  However, we have seen the devastating impact that COVID-19 has had on people living in care homes, and this situation would have been significantly worse if robust measures, including visiting restrictions were not in place. We reviewed our policies and procedures regularly and we relaxed our visiting restrictions as soon as we could safely facilitate visits in accordance with government guidance.  Throughout the period when the Home was not open to visitors, we ensured that all residents maintained contact with their loved ones.
