Dear Karl,
We are sorry that this was your experience at our service. Firstly, let me reassure you that there is no limitation to the number of visits for our residents in normal circumstances. However, we were unfortunately in outbreak at the early part of this year therefore the service could only accept essential visits into the home. We apologise for the inconvenience and upset this may have caused to both yourself and your family.
With regards to other residents wearing your relative’s clothes, the home has not permitted visits in communal areas since 2020. Therefore, relatives have had no access to other residents except their family member. Furthermore, we have a reliable laundry department that ensures that all residents’ clothes are washed, ironed and delivered straight into the residents’ wardrobe. As a home we encourage relatives to ensure that residents’ clothes and belongings are labelled to ensure that they are wearing their own clothes but unfortunately this is not always the case as identified by yourself on your visit to the home.
I can only apologise also that you found your relative to appear that they had not received any personal care.
To further enhance the support we provide within the service we have taken action to review the concerns you have raised and any actions arising from your concerns will be shared and addressed with our team to ensure an incident of this nature does not happen again. If you would like to discuss any of the concerns raised further please contact me on 0121 560598.
