Located in the heart of the new Greenlaw Mains community in Penicuik, Glencorse Care Home is a purpose-built, luxury care home set to open soon. Designed for comfort, dignity, and wellbeing, the home will provide high-quality Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite care for up to 54 residents in beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms.

This is a rare opportunity to join a care home at the commissioning stage and help shape the culture, systems, and environment from the very start. We are now looking for a proactive and detail-focused Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping operations and create a warm, welcoming setting that residents are proud to call home.

What We Offer:

• £13.52 per hour
• Full time
• Paid PVG, pension, free onsite parking, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)
• Be part of an exciting commissioning project from day one

What You Will Do:
As Head Housekeeper, you will lead a dedicated team to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout the home. From training new staff and managing supplies to inspecting rooms and working closely with other departments, your role will be central to creating a pleasant, well-maintained environment.

You will take responsibility for daily housekeeping and laundry schedules, support health and safety compliance, address feedback professionally, and oversee all aspects of cleanliness in both communal and private areas. Your eye for detail and hands-on leadership will help ensure Glencorse is always a place residents feel comfortable, respected, and cared for.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in a housekeeping supervisory or leadership role, ideally within a care or hospitality setting
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
• A positive, supportive leadership style and ability to build strong team morale
• Confidence in maintaining stock control, rotas, and cleanliness inspections
• A genuine commitment to high standards and resident satisfaction
