Home Manager (Commercial Turnaround & Market Growth)
Yarnley Care Home | Ringwood
Up to £85,000 per annum (DOE) + 40% Annual Bonus + Executive Benefits
The Opportunity
Yarnley Care Home represents a high-value turnaround opportunity
within the Care Concern Group portfolio. This purpose-built, 72-bed
service is positioned for success, with luxury en-suite accommodation,
premium facilities, and average weekly fees of £1,539.
We are seeking a commercially driven, results-focused leader to
reset operational performance, deliver occupancy growth, reduce cost
inefficiencies, and build a stable, engaged workforce.
Strategic Priorities
This is not a maintenance role; it is a turnaround mandate. The
successful candidate will be accountable for -
- Revenue Growth: Driving occupancy to sustainable levels by developing referral pipelines, repositioning Yarnley in the private-pay market, and ensuring full utilisation of capacity.
- Cost Optimisation: Reducing agency reliance through robust workforce planning, recruitment, and retention strategies to stabilise payroll spend.
- Cultural Transformation: Rebuilding staff engagement, instilling accountability, and driving a values-led, high-performance culture.
- Regulatory Excellence: Ensuring compliance, elevating quality metrics, and achieving the CQC rating aligned with service standards.
- Market Positioning: Reinforcing Yarnley’s profile as a premium home within the Hampshire market.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a proven turnaround manager with demonstrable
success in driving commercial and operational recovery. Specifically –
- Track record of delivering occupancy growth in the private-pay sector.
- Commercially astute, with strong P&L management, marketing, and revenue optimisation expertise.
- Proven ability to deliver workforce stabilisation and reduce agency dependency.
- Strategic leader with a visible, authoritative presence who can build confidence with staff, residents, families, and external stakeholders.
- Ideally nurse-qualified with an active NMC pin, though exceptional commercial leaders without nursing registration will also be considered.
Current Performance Snapshot
- Occupancy: 33%
- Agency Usage: Rising (requires cost and workforce intervention)
- CQC Rating: Only registered in August ‘24
