Maintenance Operative  Location: Wing View Care Centre, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 0NY Pay Rate: £26,875 per annum Contracted Hours: 30 hours per week Shift Pattern: 8:30am- 5:00pm Monday - Friday (Shift Pattern can be flexible) ABOUT THE ROLE Our property estate is a mixture of sizes, ages and services. As we modernise our portfolio of homes; we are refurbishing some with others being brand new, contemporary care homes. With this investment into our property, we need more people with the right mix of skills and passion to ensure that our homes are kept well maintained and safe. As the Maintenance Operative you’ll take pride in the Home that you maintain, including the surrounding gardens. You’ll soon get to know our residents and their families and will let them get involved in helping you to maintain their home. You’ll be responsible for key tasks such as the maintenance of heating and lighting, the overall fabric of the building, regular checks on the boiler and water systems and completing all  relevant health and safety checks. You may also have a Level 2 or 3 NVQ in Facilities Services (or equivalent) but this is not essential. You’ll be comfortable in an elderly care setting, with the ability to relate to our residents in a caring and sensitive manner. Confident working on your own initiative, and with a positive attitude and good communication skills, you’ll prioritise your work schedules to meet the needs of the Home and its residents and be committed to providing a well-maintained environment for everyone who lives and works in the home.
