Working for Erskine:

“ERSKINE is an iconic Scottish charity, formed in 1916 by Scotland’s compassionate response to the horrors of war. A century later, we still believe that Veterans and their families deserve our utmost respect and compassion, for the sacrifices they made and the challenges they now face.  At Erskine, we work as a dedicated team to ensure that Veterans of all ages are cared for to the highest of standards in a beautiful, fun-filled environment, made up of two care homes and a Veterans Village of cottages, activities centre and apartments.

We also work with the Army Personnel Recovery Centre (PRC) helping them provide support to Wounded, Injured and Sick Service personnel.  This can be a challenging role however, at Erskine it will also be rewarding and fulfilling.  You will be making an incredible difference to the lives of those men and women at a critical time.  We value skills and qualifications, but we prize kindness and compassion, above all.  Our team is crucial to supporting the PRC in their mission.

If you are kind and committed, then you do have what it takes to be part of the team here at Erskine! The ultimate aim is exceptional care and support to our ex-service community and everyone in every role, in every department plays their part.”

The Role:

The role has responsibility to encourage and develop a spirit of community among resident wounded, injured and sick soldiers.  The team will provide a first point of contact, out of hours, for residents in the provision of practical help and advice within the Centre and assist the implementation of the PRC partnership with Erskine and the Ministry of Defence

It is essential that applicants have very good communication skills with a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team. You will be expected to provide support and encouragement to residents and establish good professional relationships with colleagues. The post-holder will preferably have an Armed Forces background and a genuine desire and ability to work with Servicemen and women.

Benefits:

  • Dayforce Wallet – employees have the power to request up to 90% of their earned pay, on-demand, in between pay periods with Dayforce Wallet
