AKW adds Mermaid panels to range

Independent living solutions provider AKW has extended its portfolio of showering products to include Mermaid shower and wall panels. Ideal for creating the wet-room environment that AKW promotes for accessible bathrooms, Mermaid panels offer substantial cost and time-saving benefits over traditional tiling and deliver a long-lasting water-tight performance.

Mermaid is Europe’s leading supplier of wall and shower panels and AKW will be offering a range of panels which come in classic but contemporary designs. On average, the panels are 25% cheaper than tiles to install and do not need to be fitted by a specialist tiler. With no grout, the risk of mould is eliminated and they can be used to create a sophisticated showering area which will keep its good looks with time. Panels are also available with an anti-bacterial coating for hygiene and ease of cleaning.

Mermaid Panels are made from 9mm water-resistant WBP plywood, bonded with a high-pressure laminate resulting in a 100% waterproof surface. The plywood used is sourced from PEFC and FSC certified sustainable forests and the panels carry a 10-year water tight guarantee.
