Staff and residents at Thamesfield retirement village put on their dancing shoes and raised money for Independent Age.
They recently hosted a tea dance at the luxury retirement village in Henley-on-Thames in aid of the charity, which supports older people living on low incomes. Manella Seneviratne, a local singer and keyboard player, and Tojoy Dance provided entertainment on the day.
The event raised almost £200 for the charity, thanks to the sale of raffle tickets and homemade cakes. The total is expected to rise as family and friends of residents continue to donate to the cause.
Louise Light, activities co-ordinator, said “It was a pleasure to help the residents organise this fantastic event. Manella and Owen and Juliette from Tojoy are regular visitors to Thamesfield so it was great to have them attend and raise some money for such a well-deserving cause.”
