Residents at Hallgarth Care Home give it a go

Residents at Hallgarth Care Home in Durham took part in a ‘Give it a go’ day, which saw them all trying something new for the first time.

Angela Muir, home manager, said: “Our give it go afternoon was based on our old favourite bingo. In fact it was American Bingo! With a letter from the word BINGO being called before the number so everyone knew which column to look in to see if they had the number to mark off. It took a while to get the hang of the game but everyone helped each other on their Bingo team tables. Elizabeth was the first to get a full house in the final game and won the big prize of the day a ‘sports car’. When it came to the vote as to whether we should play it again in the future, out of the 20 people playing, 14 would like to play it again. But not for a while, they prefer the more traditional game of Bingo.”
