Staff and residents across each of the 19 Ideal Carehomes across Yorkshire, the North West and the Midlands stand in solidarity with the British public to #clapforourcarers to show support for all key workers and their tremendous efforts throughout the current Covid-19 outbreak. The care provider encourages families and friends of residents to join them as each home will stream their applause live on Facebook on the 26 March at 8pm to show appreciation for those who are working each day on the front line and to thank them for their ongoing work. Stacey Linn, Director at Ideal Carehomes, said: "I am incredibly proud of each and every one of our Ideal Carehomes staff members, the essential work they provide for our residents is truly inspirational. I would personally like to thank each and every member of our amazing team. I would also like to take the time to thank the NHS and all of their key workers and frontline staff for everything they do. I am honoured to know so many heroic people working within the care industry and at 8pm I will be joining our homes to clap for them all." Claire Gordon-Rundle, Home Manager at Bowbridge Court based In Newark, said: "I have seen our carers selflessly donate key household products from their own homes to deliver essentials such as toilet rolls, meats, vegetables, tinned goods, toiletries etc to local people in the community whom may not be able to leave their homes due to isolating and shielding. – A true testament to our carers dedication to provide care and assistance to those in need." Paula Mountjoy, Home Manager at Windsor Court in Wetherby, said: "Our teams are amazing – not only caring for our residents as usual but also continuing to provide lots of fun activities and things to do to keep us all upbeat, active and socialising despite the circumstances. We all understand how difficult it is to not be able to see loved ones, but we are keeping families connected with FaceTime, Skype calls, messages on social media and even a good old fashioned letter!" Resident, Mavis Wood, who lives at Fairway View in Nottingham, said: "The care team at Fairway View, in my opinion, are incredibly heroic, for coming to work every day, putting on their uniforms and performing their jobs despite however anxious and worried they may be about the situation. Our carers are positive, upbeat and their efforts constantly reassure us that we are in very good hands. – today I stand up and clap for our healthcare professionals, they truly are amazing!"
