One of the UK’s largest care home groups Four Seasons Health Care has confirmed administrators have launched a process to sell all of its care homes in Northern Ireland.
The administrators, Alvarez and Marshall, will be overseeing this process and have stated that the sale process is at a very early stage.
Four Seasons Health Care has 42 care homes in Northern Ireland and employs around 2,200 staff.
A spokesperson for Four Seasons Health Care said: “Our utmost priority remains ensuring the safety, quality of life and continuity of care for all of our residents.”
In April 2019, Four Seasons parent company called in the administrators to ring-fence the £500 million debt with the group going through a significant restructuring process.
Across the UK, Four Seasons Health Care operates 184 sites.
The company has said any sale would make strategic sense, given Northern Ireland operates in a separate territory and under a different regulatory regime.
