Former care home in Devon on the market for the first time since 1990s

Frensham House is a former care home that was registered to accommodate 14 elderly residents and staff accommodation across 12 bedrooms. It occupies a two-storey, detached period property that comprises bright and spacious day rooms on the ground floor, including a conservatory, and bathrooms on each level. Outside, the gardens are well-maintained and expansive, featuring an outbuilding/summer house which has previously been a visitor pod.

It is located in the coastal town of Brixham, South Devon, neighbouring the desirable beach towns of Paignton and Torquay. With popular beaches and scenic seafronts, the area brings in huge numbers of tourists and has a large retirement community, presenting an excellent opportunity to repurpose the former care home.

The former care home is currently owned by Stonehaven Care Group, a local operator that acquired the property as its second care facility in the late 1990s. The family-run business successfully managed the home for over two decades before the decision was taken to close the home for economic reasons in September 2024.
