Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has announced the sale of Knowle Court Care Home in Golcar, Huddersfield.
Knowle Court is registered for 22 elderly residents and was established in 1987 by Michael and June Lunn. In 2001, the home was taken over by their son, Matthew, and his wife, Kirsty. Over the years, Knowle Court has built a strong reputation for delivering good quality person-centred care and maintaining relationships with residents, families, staff, and Local Authorities. The home is rated ‘Good’ in all areas by the Care Quality Commission.
Following a confidential sales process with Jonathan Wickens at Christie & Co, it has been purchased by Harchester Limited, who are new entrants to the sector.
Matthew Lunn, former owner of Knowle Court Care Home, comments. “The decision to sell was made after careful consideration and with confidence that the new owners will continue to uphold the values, quality, and care standards that our residents and families have come to expect. The sale will allow us to focus on other ventures, and we would like to thank all the staff members for their dedicated, professional work and wish them all the best for the future. We believe that Harchester will continue the ethos and reputation built up over many years and wish them the best for the future.”
Darral Taylor, Group Strategic and Operations Director at Harchester Limited, comments, “We’re delighted to be taking ownership of Knowle Court and to continue the fantastic work already being done by the team here. Our priority is simple – to ensure complete continuity for residents, families, and staff. It’s a privilege to be working alongside such a dedicated and compassionate team, and we’re committed to maintaining the home’s welcoming culture and strong community spirit. Knowle Court has an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality, person-centred care, and our focus is on supporting the team and building on that success.”
Jonathan Wickens, Director – Care at Christie & Co, comments, “It has been a very smooth transfer, with both parties working diligently to ensure minimal disruption to the ongoing running of the home. The sale highlights the continued strong demand for homes across the Yorkshire region, particularly those with ‘Good’ ratings from CQC.”
