Recipient: Blythe Rose Specialist Dementia Care Home
Date: Thursday 16 Mar 2023
Blythe Rose, Macc Care’s specialist dementia home in Blythe Valley Park, Solihull, won ‘Best Interior Design’ thanks to its array of facilities designed to offer its residents a diverse selection of activities — including a salon, communal cinema and small shop.
As well as this, the home is separated into six individual lodges, each with 12 to 15 bedrooms, which induces a sense of independent living and encourages residents to engage in everyday domestic tasks.
Sharen Guise, Director of Operations for Macc Care, said: “Great care design should always be judged by the impact it has on people and how it supports independence and wellbeing, not just for residents, but for families and staff alike. We demonstrated this philosophy at the inspection and were duly rewarded.
“Many congratulations to and Cheryl, Home Manger at Blythe Rose, who during the inspection day demonstrated just how well care can be delivered and how our residents' varying care needs can be supported by each of these unique environments"
The Pinder Design Awards look to promote and recognise the very best developments in all types of care-related property. Its categories seek to acknowledge the contribution made by homeowners, designers, builders and architects to the well-being and quality of life for those in their care.
