Consultant Geriatrician Dr Soumit Singhai FRCP will give an overview on the symptoms -both motor and non-motor - and treatment strategies in Parkinson's Disease, which would help in identification of the condition as it is a condition that is often not recognised and therefore underdiagnosed. Parkinson’s Disease is very treatable with range of medications and treatment strategies. And even in patients who are diagnosed, often there a range of non-motor symptoms which are not always readily identified and treated so that quality of life can be improved.

Dr Singhai is a Consultant Geriatrician and Physician with over 12 years’ experience of working as a substantive Consultant and his NHS base is the Lister Hospital, Hertfordshire.


He is a specialist in Parkinson's Disease/Movement Disorders and Dementia and has a specialist interest and expertise in the neuropsychiatric (behavioural and psychological) problems related to Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia. Dr Singhai's work in the area of Parkinson's Disease has been recognised as an example of best practice by the Parkinson's UK Clinical Excellence Network. His approach to care is person centred with treating "what matters to the person" to address their needs and goals and improve quality of life.


Dr Singhai is also involved in clinical research and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
