View Full Details of Kallar Lodge Residential Care HomeMy mum was moved into Kallar Lodge on a D2A placement and from the first contact to find out about her to when she unfortunately had to move out due to a change in her needs (nursing care) the service was exceptional. The staff were kind, patient and went above and beyond to make the process as calm and stress free as possible - a welcome relief from the chaos of hospital admissions! The home is bright and airy and doesn't feel 'institutional'. There are a lot of modern touches - A smart speaker playing music everywhere, tablets for entry/exit check in, etc. Her room was VERY large and we were encouraged to make it homely even though she was only there for a short time. I can't praise the team enough and wish my mum's condition hadn't deteriorated meaning she had to move elsewhere. A heartfelt thank you to all involved. You should be proud of the care you're providing - not only to your residents but also to their friends and family.
I found all the staff were so caring to everyone. They not only cared for their residents but kept them occupied, played games and put music on and got them up dancing, even if the people had frames. All the residents I saw, thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I must say all carers and staff were/are a kind wonderful bunch. Many thanks to them.
My aunt went to live at Kallar Lodge just after Christmas 2017 and by the time of her death in August 2024 had become one of their longest serving residents. Throughout this long time we were so impressed with everything about the home. The word 'care' is often used to mean performing the practical jobs - but here the staff provided so much more than that in that they cared for my aunt as if she was one of their own family. As her dementia worsened, particularly during covid, that care never wavered with staff always giving her the respect she deserved. We were always welcomed for visits, whether by arrangement or ad hoc, and the managers always had time to speak to us about concerns, at length if needed, and we never felt a burden. We enjoyed seeing the photos of her joining in numerous activites, especially the singing and dancing days and the visit from a petting zoo. Our family cannot thank everyone at Kallar Lodge enough for their unstinting care, kindness - and love. Thank you x
Fantastic atmosphere and the biggest bonus was the carers who worked at this residential home. They were so friendly and accommodating and could not do enough for my mum. They all had smiles on their faces and created an atmosphere that felt like home.
My Mother has been in this care home for 8 months now and she has really settled well. She is looked after with all her needs. The staff are lovely, the home is clean and well-maintained. The garden area is lovely and maintained. My Mother appears really happy and this has given us peace of mind to know that she is safe and well cared for.
My father is at Kallar Lodge, he has been well looked after while here - at this present time my father's at end of life stage. I would like to say everybody at Kallar Lodge has been outstanding and have a well-run home and always looking after my father and myself and family - you would find it very hard to meet so many great humans in one place. Great experience. Well done.
The staff are very good and very kind all the time.
The staff at Kallar Lodge have been amazing since my nan arrived in April, absolutely every member of staff from the people on reception to the carers, cleaners and managers have been so kind and welcoming to my nan and have always been very helpful and friendly to myself and any family member who have visited my nan. When she arrived she was very upset and was adamant she wanted to go home but as the days have gone by she has got better each day. She now looks much better thanks to the carers and seems much more happy and settled. The people in charge recently moved my nan to a different room on a different floor as they felt it would be beneficial which it has turned out to be. My nan much prefers it and again had settled even more since moving. I couldn't speak higher of all the staff at Kallar Lodge, they do a great job and long may that continue.
My mother appears to be treated with care and respect at all times. Medical issues are dealt with promptly. Staff are always pleasant and helpful. Although communication by phone can be difficult at times, face to face always satisfactory.
Totally 100% satisfied with Mum's care she receives. She is always very clean and tidy, always happy. Can honestly say she has never asked to go home or cry (which really reassures me that she is happy) and safe. I keep the rest of the family informed of what is happening with Mum. I take photos/videos and send them to my brother. All in all, we are all really happy. Couldn't wish for a better place. If only we could find a place for our disabled son, that had the same care, compassion and love. I just wouldn't have any worries.
This is the fourth home our mum has been a resident in. By far it's the most perfect care home for mum. Wish we had applied for Kallar Lodge first, two years ago. They have cared for our mum top-notch. The staff are fantastic too. From management and carers to the reception ladies too. Well done to them all for the care given to our mum.
My mother is now at Kallar Lodge. I have found the staff very helpful since she has been here and very kind and always made me feel welcome. My mum is happy and well looked after and seems happy to be there. The home provides many activities for her to do and her room has everything she needs when she wants some privacy. I cannot fault anybody I have met there and think they are all doing a great job. I'd like to thank all the staff from the bottom of my heart as my mum's life has now improved by no end.
My mother was well cared for at Kallar Lodge, it was always very clean, the rooms were light and airy, and the communal areas were also pleasant and well looked after. The staff were helpful and always tried to answer my questions.
My mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's recently and moved in on March 1st 2023. I didn't know what to expect and was very nervous about leaving Mum. From day one I felt totally included in Mum's care. I was asked everything about Mum on her admission, even down to how she takes her tea! I cannot fault her care and the staff are all very friendly and caring, from the estate team and the carers to the cook. From day one everyone introduced themselves to me and Mum, and made us both feel very welcome to be there. Although only being there a short time she has already gained weight and her communication and interaction with people has improved greatly. Her constant nervousness/anxiety has gone and this confirms to me she is happy and feeling safe in the home. I cannot recommend Kallar Lodge enough and feel very thankful to everyone within the team for the peace of mind you have given to me, and the safe and caring environment you have provided for my mum.
Mum, who has dementia, moved in very recently. Right from the pre-admittance visit to her at home, I can't fault any of the staff or the care she has received since she became a resident. She is very happy there and tells me that all the staff are very kind and the food is lovely. She has her own ensuite room that we're slowly filling with her personal items, but she enjoys spending time in the lounges with the other residents. I'm so grateful and give huge thanks, to everyone at Kallar Lodge, for providing a clean, safe and happy environment for Mum.
My sister is a resident at Kallar Lodge. I am assigned Court of Protection for her, and I visit her on a weekly basis. She had her 93rd birthday on the 20th of November. Sadly my husband and I could not visit on that day due to strict visiting times, which meant we had to visit the day before on the 19th November. On our arrival to the visiting room, I was overwhelmed by the care that was taken for us to celebrate her birthday. There was a table laid out beautifully for us to have our own birthday celebration, including a pot of tea and all the trimmings. She has been at the home for four and a half years now, and the care by the staff and admin has been second to none.
My dad has dementia and has been living in Kallar Lodge since late 2019, when my dad moved into Kallar Lodge, myself and my family were worried as it was the first care home he lived in since being diagnosed with dementia. Since moving into Kallar Lodge I can't fault the care he has received from all the staff. And throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, the home has done all it can and more to make sure my dad is safe and have abided by all the rules on PPE and guidance. I am able to visit my dad in a room in the home wearing PPE and am very happy with how my dad looks his skin is so much better and he has lost weight. He looks so well that it makes me very emotional that he is being cared for so well. I would like to say that if myself or my sisters had to be cared for in a home that Kallar lodge would be the home I would hope that I would live
I am very happy with the service provided at Kallar Lodge. The staff and management have been very good with the care they have provided. It's a very good care home. I would recommend this care home to anybody in my family and in the area.
I'd like to thank all the staff, you have truly been amazing. You have all been so kind and caring, I would definitely recommend this home to my family and friends. Thanks for making my Nan's last days a little easier.
Myself and my family have no problems with my mums care home Kallar Lodge. Very happy with the care of my mother.
