My first views on Highbury House are very nice, exceptionally clean and tidy, the bedrooms are really bright and cheerful, the staff are very professional and happy to do as requested, nothing too much trouble, I can't answer all questions as we have only been visiting for a few months. We visited
at Christmas for their party and was very impressed for all they laid on with a magician and the food was delicious.
My sister appears to be very happy which is lovely to see, we have had bad experiences with other homes and this, so far, seems to be first class.
I've answered the question as excellent as far as I can see,

My mother in law needed palliative care. We chose Highbury House as it was local to us and when I looked around was welcoming and the staff where able to address all of my concerns. She was given a beautiful room. She was very well looked after including regular hair washes and her nails being
painted which were very important to her. As a family we were welcomed and able to visit at anytime. She appreciated being visited by children from the local school. We really appreciate all the care and support from all the staff.

My mother, who has dementia and is bed bound, has been a resident at the Home for a while now. She is in a lovely room with a view of the beautiful garden and loves being able to see the birds and flowers. My main take of the Home is just how lovely the staff are. All of them are very caring and
friendly and have a good rapport with my Mum. It is also nice that you can make yourself at home there when you visit. I feel very comfortable that my Mum is being cared for now that I can't look after her.

My husband was a resident there for 5 months on palliative and then end-of-life care. His room was beautiful and airy, he enjoyed the food and he felt very comfortable there. The staff is outstanding: caring, respectful, warm and professional. Cleaners, nurses, carers, cooks, social workers and
maintenance and administration people were all very supportive at the most difficult time of my life. I will be forever grateful. For the last month of my husband's life, I practically lived there and they became my friends. Thank you to them.

Thank you for all the great care you took of my Dad you made him very comfortable and happy. Unfortunately, my dad passed away last Wednesday from pneumonia after a short time of illness so we were unable to do the things we planned. We as a family will be forever grateful for the care that you all
gave so please let everyone know how much they are appreciated.
Thank you and kind regards.

My father came to stay as he was unable to stay at his flat after having 2 broken hips in a year after falls and needed more care than we could give him, at 92 he came to Highbury house and the staff were absolutely amazing with him. The care they gave him couldn't have been better, they all gave
him love and care as if he was their own family, he passed away recently so once again I would like to thank them.

We wanted to say my grandmother is receiving impeccable care in our opinion, we are impressed with how attentive and genuine all the staff are, they are well able to answer whatever question we might ask about her care. My grandmother enjoys the various activities and social life which the staff
ensure she is part of (allowing for her advanced dementia). We are very happy.

Highbury House felt right as soon as I walked in. The staff were warm, welcoming and professional and were patient with my endless questions. The building is spotless and has a beautiful garden and there is a positive energy about the place. On the day of Mum's arrival, the staff all came to welcome
her, making her feel very special. Her arrival was greeted with genuine interest and enthusiasm - like a long-lost family member visiting! They were also so kind to my dad and me as we were naturally apprehensive.
On a daily basis, the staff were attentive and kind to Mum and also looked after my dad, who spent every day there. Nurses were quick to respond to her medical needs and we were always confident of the quality of her care.
Mum spent just three weeks in the home as due to their care and attention, she made enough progress for us to care for her at home again. However, she will be likely to need residential care again in future and I would not hesitate to return. Thank you!

My mother stayed at Highbury House for end-of-life care. She had a nice room that led onto the garden and I was able to bring some of her things from home to put in her room and make it feel more familiar.
Most importantly, I found the staff warm, friendly and genuinely caring. The nursing staff
were excellent, made Mum comfortable and treated her with respect. Thank you all for your care and support through this difficult time.

Highbury House is a lovely, bright, clean home. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are generally on the ground floor with double-glazed doors and windows leading into a flowered patio and, if your family member needs a wheelchair, you can wheel them into a beautifully flowered garden. Lovely sea
breeze air, and small wildlife to see. Rooms are comfortable, large TV, with all needed essentials. They have afternoon teas in a large seated area, or you can have tea and cake in your room every day. Lots of activities like music and games in the lounge area. Bedding is clean, and you can have more blankets, pillows, if needed. For people with back and muscle problems, the right air inflatable mattress is provided. Easy parking, no parking payments to pay, if you are going by car to see your loved one. Residents are loved, cared for, and well looked after. If you need to place a loved one in a home, this is the place to go. You will have peace of mind. Good visiting hours.

My husband has been a resident for over three years and is very happy and contented, with all the care he has received, and the food provided.
The activities ie. quizzes, music and competitions are helpful for his memory and condition and I would have no hesitation when I can no longer look after
myself to move into the home myself.

My mother stayed in this care home for over 5 years, from January 2017 - May 2021. On the whole, her care was very good. The staff were very kind and compassionate, however, in my opinion, Highbury House is understaffed, meaning the carers were literally running from one job to the next most of the
time. Occasionally I would have appreciated better communication about my Mum's medical condition from the nurses, but again I could see they were pushed for time. Entertainments for the home were done on the cheap, such as staff members' friends and relatives coming in to sing and dance. Cleaning is not completely thorough - I often had to get a cloth to scrub my Mum's table of dried-on food. Again I would not in any way blame the staff, who are probably low-paid and overworked. I would blame the owners who no doubt cream off a large profit from residents money for their care. A little bit of online research on my part showed the Director to be a millionaire from Eastbourne. Enough said.
