My mother moved to Valley Lodge in March 26. I was very hesitant but have been proved wrong, The staff have all worked really hard to settle mum and although it has been a long time to settle mum now appears happy. Mum is looked after well and staff engage mum as much as they can as she refuses to leave her room . Mum is very stubborn but all staff take there time and encourage mum to join others mum is happier , healthier and more content than I have seen her in years.

We cannot praise and thank Valley Lodge enough for all the wonderful care and love given to our late mother. She was very reluctant to go into care but within a few weeks she was feeling well at home, enjoying the delicious food, friendly company and the wonderful loving care given by all the members of staff. On returning from a day out with family she would always say "ah I'm home now" that gave us all great comfort we would without a doubt recommend Valley Lodge and have already done so several times. Thank you. x

Thank you so much for your beautiful words. We are truly touched to hear how much Valley Lodge meant to your dear mother and to your family. It was an absolute privilege to care for her and to see her settle in and call Valley Lodge her home. Knowing that she felt comforted, happy, and well cared...

I am very pleased with the overall care that my husband receives. I find the staff very friendly and cooperative. They are very courteous to the residents and have infinite patience. I think more fresh fruit could be added to the residents diet. In some cases, there is too much food on the dinner plate for the mid day lunch. The activities are noted but I am not aware of my husband's participating, although I appreciate that he is not that mobile. I must admit I have not asked.

The staff at Valley Lodge are amazing and treat Mum as if she were their own family. Mum is always included in all activities and treated with respect in a difficult situation having dementia.

Very good, it was my wife's and I first time having to consider care for one of our relatives. The initial contact with the staff at Valley Lodge was both compassionate and caring. They have guided us through this very difficult period with knowledge and care for which we will be forever thankful. My Father-in-law has settled in very well and we both feel we have made a good choice.

The staff were excellent in settling in my Mum upon her arrival, which was very comforting. The rooms are spacious with the large ensuite still giving independence to the resident. The food is good quality and varied. Nice views and a relaxed atmosphere. Really good staff, nothing is a bother to them and excellent for advice.

Review from A H (Cousin of Resident) published on 21 October 2019 Submitted via Postal Card

Lack of feedback on requests for haircare, podiatry, hearing aid batteries and medical care is an ongoing problem. Sometimes no staff are around who can supply answers and management is not very visible. Having a receptionist would speed up entry and exit and would be a focal point for enquiries as mentioned above.

The care home is very friendly, very helpful in any personal matters. My husband is happy to be there and enjoys the food. My big worry was that he was falling quite a lot, I think something has been put in place now so that he has someone with him when he goes for a walk.
