Alexandra House is a warm and welcoming residential home that provides short stay respite for adults with learning disabilities aged 18 and over.

Specialist care is available for the care of adults with moderate or profound learning disabilities, people with autistic spectrum disorders and complex needs.

Alexandra House offers a home away from home environment and places each service user's wellbeing at the heart of every planning process. There is a focus on the promotion of user-led participation, individuality, and independence.

Care plans are tailored to the needs of the individual and relatives and clients are kept informed about major care decisions.

Our son uses the facility for respite each month for approximately 3 nights each time. He has quite complex needs, yet the staff are extremely accommodating and understanding of this. He enjoys his stays there and is alway happy to return and enjoys the company of other service users, staff and management. Owners/management are often at the facility and are always available and easy to talk with.

Job Title: Registered Provider and Registered Manager

Description:

Tia is the Registered Provider and Manager of Alexandra House. She holds a BSc. (Hons.) Degree in Counselling and Social Policy, Masters / Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work Studies, Supervising Student Social Work qualification (Practice Teaching) and she achieved her NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in 2016.

Tia worked within Children Services for 8 years and prior to that worked with women and their children fleeing Domestic Violence. She also supported adults with Learning Disabilities who are from Jewish communities. Tia has a wealth of knowledge on safeguarding issues within both Children and Adult services.
Tia is always available for you or your family to talk to and she likes to hear your views.

Gaynor leads our Day Service and holds a BA Hons. Degree in Health and Social Care / Sociology.
