Job Title: Hairdresser

Location: Richmond Village Aston, Richmond Drive, Off Maple Drive, DE72 2EA

Salary range: £12.75ph

Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term

Shift Pattern: Monday to Saturday & between hours 9-6pm

What your typical day involves

• Carrying out treatments such as cutting, restyling, blow wave, perming, setting, application of colour and restyling of long or short hair

• Providing consultation and advice to customers if/when required, especially when providing colouring services, ensuring patch tests are carried out at all times

• Completing customer record cards for every colour and perm appointments

• Booking customer appointments with efficient time allocated for each appointment

• Operating the EPOS system as required to receive payments from customers

• Performing housekeeping duties as required, ensuring all tools are sanitised after each customer and that work areas are clean, tidy and hygienic

• Promoting and demonstrating products for retail to reach or exceed retail and treatment targets

• Checking stock levels and advising the management of any requirements

• Undertaking any additional duties or promotional activities as directed by the Wellness Spa Manager, including covering reception, taking telephone bookings and enquiries in the absence of the Receptionist

Who we're looking for

Ideally, you'll have an NVQ Level 1 or 2 in Hairdressing/Barbering along with experience of working in a salon and using different colour techniques. You're able to advise customers on alternative styles and colours that suit their physical features and experience of working with older people would be advantageous. Friendly and approachable, you're an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills who's able to deliver a person-centred service to customers with different needs and abilities. With a confident personality, you're able to work under your own initiative to ensure customer needs are met.

Because we care for vulnerable people, we'll need you to complete a DBS check as part of the recruitment process. Bupa will cover the cost of this (£40).
