Oak Lodge Care Home

from Ken H (Husband of Resident) published on 12 June 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I was very concerned about my wife, who has dementia and had suffered from a broken hip, settling into a new environment after being in hospital for ten weeks. She very quickly settled and before long Oak Lodge became her home. The staff, from reception, carers, catering staff and nurses have always
been very caring, attentive, efficient and friendly, not only to my wife but to me as well. They always greet me by name. If they have any concerns they phone. I feel more relaxed because I know my wife is being well looked after and is happy. Thanks to everyone.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I was sent here from hospital 3 weeks ago. What a place this is. The rooms and all areas are lovely. The food is brilliant. Ive never really been a desert person but I have to eat them even if im full because they are so nice. Which is good because before coming in here i hadnt eaten properly for months.
Everyone, from the chefs, the cleaners, the management, maintenance, the nurses and the carers are so nice. They are friendly and they do really care. I wouldnt call this a care home because they all make me feel like it is my home. And I wouldnt call the people that work here staff because they feel like friends and family. Im so lucky to have been sent here.
If any of you reading this are looking for a home for yourself or family member, definately come and see here.
I dont know how BUPA chose their staff but BUPA however you do it dont change it. Everyone here is perfect for their jobs.

Recently I attended a 'Residents, Family and Friends Social Evening' at Ridley Park Care home and what a lovely evening it was!
A great deal of effort had been put in by the staff to make the event a success. There was a beautiful buffet, a quiz and music.
What really made it special was the lovely

A well run care home, with excellent, friendly staff, that respect the residents and relations. They are always busy, but nothing is too much trouble. Reception staff are very helpful and welcoming - as all the staff are.
Feel that my mum is safe and well cared for, my only constructive feedback is
that mum's room is very dark and needs decor brightening up.

Our mum is a resident there, having been at a different care home previously, and the care she receives from nursing and care staff is absolutely amazing. Nothing seems to be too much and she is never made to feel uncomfortable about
any request. Her medical care is excellent. Issues, when they infrequently arise, are listened too and reacted upon immediately. The environment is beautiful and nothing is too much for the lovely team. They help as soon as they are asked and do so with a smile. There are a range of activities run by a great team, that are interesting, stimulating and inclusive. The catering and dining team are so kind and really help ensure a great selection of lovely food is available. The rooms are kept spotless and well resourced by a very friendly team who always offer their help and move and mend anything asked.
Jonathon, the manager and his management team are fantastic and extremely responsive.

Overall the home and staff are excellent. Our mum has a dark room as there is a large tree immediately opposite her window - The tree needs cutting back! The staff are always helpful and treat mum with care and kindness.

I have a long experience with Copper Beech as my sister has been a resident since Covid. She has a room on the first floor overlooking the garden and is well looked after by the very caring staff who are friendly, patient. The reception staff are particularly kind and helpful and nothing is too much
trouble. Thank you to the home manager and all the staff.

We are happy with the care and support. The staff are very caring. All the staff speak and show interest in the resident, it means a lot to know that mum is being looked after by caring staff and that she is so happy. The food has greatly improved, it was the one thing that was letting the home down.
The bedroom and bathroom (toilet/sink) could do with modernising, e.g. carpet, curtains, painting - nice soft towels.
