Review of

The Springs Care Home

from Daniel P (Son of Resident) published on 17 September 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
My father, suffering with advanced dementia, recently stayed here, and sadly, our experience was far from what was promised. Every time I came to see him, he was slumped asleep in a chair in the corridor - no sign of any of the engaging activities or stimulation we were told would be a daily part of
his care.
What's more, not once during any of my visits did a staff member or receptionist take the time to update me on how he was settling in, how he was doing - It all felt very transactional and impersonal. On the last day I came to visit him at the end of his stay, no one gave me a handover or any feedback on his time there. The only question I was asked was, "When is your mum picking him up?"
My father also came back with a severe case of scabies. While I can't definitively say it was contracted at the home, it's very likely. Even more upsetting is that we weren't told anything about a rash or skin irritation - no communication at all. At the least, we should have been informed

My mum has been a resident here for a few months now and her care has been exceptional. The staff are very professional and caring, giving excellent support to mum and to the family when times have been difficult. The staff are very friendly and obviously enjoy what they do and this makes for a happy
unit. They are always available to chat about any issues (if any) and the staff certainly know the residents well. Would certainly recommend.

The Goldbridge Care Home

from Eric P (Respite Resident) published on 17 September 2025
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Having had major surgery in April this year (2025) with a need to choose a care home. My family naturally chose 'Goldbridge' as I have stayed there 2 years earlier. Their choice has always been faultless, and from day one, any concerns I might have had, didn't occur.
All the staff, from the manager,
activities organisers, nursing and care staff all perform in an exceptional way. Goldbridge is efficiently managed and the activities staff are constantly creating different things for the residents, keeping fit or entertaining with competitions, musical afternoon and games. As indicated by my ratings, all of mine would be very good. Without exception all staff are kind, pleasant and wonderful and seem to want to please. Overall a care home I would be delighted to recommend to any of my friends, should they find a reason.

The home is a very pleasant place to sit after you have had a meal. There are two lounges to choose from. My husband was taken ill recently by the paramedics and ambulance people were very kind and came very quickly. The nurse here and the care staff helped them to make sure he was comfortable until
they took him to hospital.

The home is welcoming when I arrive and staff find time to answer any questions or concerns we may have which is very helpful as we live some distance from Oxford.
For example the Head of Home recently contacted the residents' GP on our behalf to discuss a complex issue, and came back very quickly
with the response and further advice.
The nursing staff seem kind.

This was my father's 2nd respite stay here. It was great to see so many of the same friendly caring staff as were here 2 years ago on his last stay. There is a really happy atmosphere amongst the staff who clearly know the residents well and they really understand my dad's needs and gave an excellent
level of care. The catering and facilities were also very good with varied menu and nice lounge and garden. Would definitely recommend.

My mother lived at Aylesham Court for over 4 years. Her needs were complex and needed a high level of care. The dedication all the staff displayed, ensuring mum was cared for, comfortable and happy was second to none. Sadly, mum passed away this June. The compassion, love, dignity, and respect the staff
showed to mum and the family during her final days of life was wonderful. The family are so thankful for the guidance, support and help the staff gave to us after mum's passing too. Thank you, Aylesham Court, for being a part of mum's family'.

My husband has been in Wilton Manor Care Home for one month.
I cannot speak highly enough of this home. The manager and staff are the most professional, caring people I have ever come across. All the residents are treated with dignity, respect, and love. The nursing team provide a duty of care to
an exceptional high standard, which, for me, having been a nurse, is so important. So love Wilton Manor.

Not an easy form to complete.
I visit my friend twice weekly and find most staff very pleasant. I think they are getting to understand my friend now, being unable to move unassisted, she can get very frustrated and has been misunderstood in the past! However, 4 months later, all seems to be fine and
the staff dismiss that now and are really kind. I found the food/drink difficult as I have never seen the meal; she is on a S.A.L.T. diet.

The staff on reception are always warm + welcoming, happy to help when needed. I have found both nursing + care staff caring and conscientious and always ready to meet her needs. Also if she has a medical problem action is taken to address the issue and she is given the relevant treatment. The activities
staff are excellent and do their best to meeting mums needs and stimulate her with thought-provoking games and fun activities. They are very attuned to the needs of the residents and go out of their way to keep them happy. Mum is happy eating snack and the restaurant staff have got used to this and are always kind and courteous. Mum and I find the laundry staff extremely helpful + cheerful. They light up the room whenever we see them.
