Review of

Broomcroft House Care Home

from J H (Wife of Resident) published on 18 November 2025
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
This was my husband's second respite visit to Broomcroft. Once again he settled well, has been very well cared for. He was disappointed the weather was not as warm as his visit in the summer as he loves the outdoor facilities!
He said the food was good but portions too big - overfacing him.
His room
was smaller than previously which meant no room for a spare chair for visitors but that is only a minor grumble - otherwise very good.
I have felt completely relaxed whilst he has been in care.

The support I and my siblings have also received has been outstanding and welcomed by all, especially from the home manager, deputy manager, ground floor unit manager and from the activities co-ordinator who has provided

Crossley House Care Home

from David A (Son of Resident) published on 18 November 2025

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother who suffered from dementia lived at Crossley House for her last couple of years and we couldn't have asked for a better place for her.
Right up to the end the care and love shown to her was brilliant, as a family we couldn't have asked for more.
My father is now living there and once again
the care given is second to none.
Any issues flagged up to the manageress are addressed immediately.
The cleanliness and food and care given is flawless.
Would highly recommend Crossley House to anyone who wants nothing but the best for their loved one.

Arbrook House Care Home

from Patricia L (Resident) published on 18 November 2025

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
The care has been very good. Every single member of staff is kind, very capable, and totally non-judgmental. The activities are good and varied (like the music). My only criticism is the pureed food. I like that the chef purees the separate items separately, but the taste of the main ingredient is not
pleasant. suggest: add grated cheese, or anything to improve the taste.
Otherwise, Arbrook House is an excellent care home.

Edmund House Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother has been a resident for over 4 months now, as her condition is progressing (dementia) I feel the care she is receiving is far beyond anything I could provide. It is outstanding, recently having contracted covid, 1/2 hourly checks were carried out and she was monitored constantly. The unit
is spotlessly clear and staff are on hand for any questions. Their behaviour in treating residents with dignity and compassion is obvious. It puts my mind at rest about her safety.

My mother-in-law moved into Sutton Lodge after the death of her husband. She has mobility issues but a sound mind. There were some teething issues she has her own long-standing routine, but the issues settled down. She loves the activities and finds the staff attentive and kind. The only outstanding
issue is with the medication which some (not all) staff seem to get wrong occasionally.
