The staff on reception are always warm + welcoming, happy to help when needed. I have found both nursing + care staff caring and conscientious and always ready to meet her needs. Also if she has a medical problem action is taken to address the issue and she is given the relevant treatment. The activities
staff are excellent and do their best to meeting mums needs and stimulate her with thought-provoking games and fun activities. They are very attuned to the needs of the residents and go out of their way to keep them happy. Mum is happy eating snack and the restaurant staff have got used to this and are always kind and courteous. Mum and I find the laundry staff extremely helpful + cheerful. They light up the room whenever we see them.

I am restricted with number of words. I had concerns about Mum's care up to Feb 2025 when she passed away after 5+ years at The Lindsay. During that time there were 6 changes of manager and countless issues, some serious enough to report to both the CQC and local authority. My main concern was call
bell response times. The current manager took 4 months to formally apologise about such issues with Mum's care early this year. I also reported to BUPA several H&S concerns which could have affected residents, visitors and staff... why did it take a relative to point out hazards! Why didn't I move Mum elsewhere? Well, her first years at The Lindsay were mostly under Covid restrictions and then, with her Alzheimer's, it was deemed best for her to stay in the environment which was familiar. Therefore my only hope was to fight for improvement... but it was stressful and exhausting for me to do so, and the home has just been upgraded from "Requires Improvement" to "Good" by the CQC.
Reply from Julie Walsh, Customer Care Adviser at The Lindsay Care Home

We're sorry you were not always happy with your mum's care during the 5 years she spent with us. She was a much-loved member of The Lindsay family. The team are naturally very proud of the Good CQC rating received, recognising their efforts and the stable management team in place. I am so very sorry for your loss.

My sister has been at the Lindsay for two weeks. I have been very impressed with the staff and the facilities . The caregivers are all friendly and has made my sister feel at home. I am welcomed whenever I come to visit, and having shared a meal with her, I was very impressed with the food. I was
particularly impressed that staff have made an effort to include my sister in activities.

My dear friend was a resident at the care home for about a year. During his time there, he received excellent care, and was always made to feel part of the family. The staff were so nice and friendly towards us when we used to visit, so high praise to all the staff. It was so nice that after his funeral,
family and friends were invited back to remember him.

To say that one member of staff, every time I come to see my gran, she always goes above and beyond, her laughter and quick wit is infectious. She is, to me, what seems to bind the building together.
Also, the member of staff on reception always remembers me, good front of house.

All the staff from the management team down to the cleaners treat my mum and myself with care and respect. They have supported me when I have needed answers re care and signposted me to the right agencies to get that support if unable to provide it themselves.
All the carers and nursing staff know
my name, and recently, the activities team helped provide mum with a 90th birthday party.
Photos go on their social media page so my sister, who lives far away, can be part of mum's life still

I am a friend of a former resident, my husband was his friend for 55 years. The wake of my friend was there at Queensmount Care Home. I thought it was very well done. All the friends and family were greeted and shown where to be seated. The staff were very good, courteous and helpful. Beautiful and
exclusive place, the food laid out for everyone and drinks were wonderful. It was a happy atmosphere as many people knew one another and I enjoyed the video of my friend racing at Goodwood.

My Dad has been in The Lindsay Care Home 3 weeks now, and he has settled very well. The staff are very friendly, kind and take a genuine interest in my Dad.
The food is amazing, and it's so good to see Dad enjoying his food again.
His room is spacious and clean; we are just waiting for PAT testing
so Dad can have his smart speaker, and waiting for some pictures to be put up on the wall. Overall, all of us are really pleased and relieved with the care Dad is receiving. Thank you.

My mother has been cared for by staff at Queens mount for over 3 years now. During that time I have been very impressed by the level of care given by all the staff. The nursing care has been excellent and the staff know my mother's needs in great detail. The staff who organise activities have been amazing
- always arranging some fun activities each day but also have been super kind and go above and beyond their remit.
Whenever I visit I am always welcome and it feels like a home from home. My mother is very happy at Queensmount and this is down to all the lovely staff.

My mum was a recent resident at Queensmount, initially on the residential floor then the nursing floor. Sadly mum was only at Queensmount for a very short time but once she settled in, she seemed to thoroughly enjoy living there. The staff were highly professional in all aspects of her care.
Mum
has always been a quiet person but the staff encouraged her to participate in the various activities, she particularly loved it when animals came into the home and we have some lovely memories of her stroking the Easter chicks. All the staff are so kind and thoughtful not just to mum but to the whole family. She was extremely well cared for and I am grateful to the staff for making her last days as comfortable as possible. The home certainly lived up to recommendations from friends and our overall expectations. Thank you.
