The Lindsay Care Home is like a four-star hotel with nursing care. The staff are professional, friendly and welcoming and show a caring attitude to the residents. I felt welcome every time I went there, but more important, my sister in law is happy there.

I am a visitor bringing a wife to see her husband 3 times a week. On arrival greeted by staff and made very welcome. When going to his room all staff speak and make a drink when given him one even when very busy. They work very hard and stop to help when needed. I have my hair done and hair dresser
is very good.

My dad has been living at The Links for a year now and he has been very well cared for. Everyone at The Links has played their part in making him feel comfortable, settled and safe. He is always treated with dignity & patience. All staff take time to chat with him including housekeeping, maintenance
and catering staff. He really enjoys the programme of social activities - there is always something happening each day, including music, entertainment. He really enjoys the keep fit sessions. Thanks to two members of staff in particular's efforts he has been able to go on some of the outings in the local area. A recent highlight was a boat trip and the harbour in a wheelchair friendly boat. Incredible was how he described it. Many thanks xxx

The staff on reception are always warm + welcoming, happy to help when needed. I have found both nursing + care staff caring and conscientious and always ready to meet her needs. Also if she has a medical problem action is taken to address the issue and she is given the relevant treatment. The activities
staff are excellent and do their best to meeting mums needs and stimulate her with thought-provoking games and fun activities. They are very attuned to the needs of the residents and go out of their way to keep them happy. Mum is happy eating snack and the restaurant staff have got used to this and are always kind and courteous. Mum and I find the laundry staff extremely helpful + cheerful. They light up the room whenever we see them.

I am restricted with number of words. I had concerns about Mum's care up to Feb 2025 when she passed away after 5+ years at The Lindsay. During that time there were 6 changes of manager and countless issues, some serious enough to report to both the CQC and local authority. My main concern was call
bell response times. The current manager took 4 months to formally apologise about such issues with Mum's care early this year. I also reported to BUPA several H&S concerns which could have affected residents, visitors and staff... why did it take a relative to point out hazards! Why didn't I move Mum elsewhere? Well, her first years at The Lindsay were mostly under Covid restrictions and then, with her Alzheimer's, it was deemed best for her to stay in the environment which was familiar. Therefore my only hope was to fight for improvement... but it was stressful and exhausting for me to do so, and the home has just been upgraded from "Requires Improvement" to "Good" by the CQC.
Reply from Julie Walsh, Customer Care Adviser at The Lindsay Care Home

We're sorry you were not always happy with your mum's care during the 5 years she spent with us. She was a much-loved member of The Lindsay family. The team are naturally very proud of the Good CQC rating received, recognising their efforts and the stable management team in place. I am so very sorry for your loss.

My dear friend was a resident at the care home for about a year. During his time there, he received excellent care, and was always made to feel part of the family. The staff were so nice and friendly towards us when we used to visit, so high praise to all the staff. It was so nice that after his funeral,
family and friends were invited back to remember him.

To say that one member of staff, every time I come to see my gran, she always goes above and beyond, her laughter and quick wit is infectious. She is, to me, what seems to bind the building together.
Also, the member of staff on reception always remembers me, good front of house.

All the staff from the management team down to the cleaners treat my mum and myself with care and respect. They have supported me when I have needed answers re care and signposted me to the right agencies to get that support if unable to provide it themselves.
All the carers and nursing staff know
my name, and recently, the activities team helped provide mum with a 90th birthday party.
Photos go on their social media page so my sister, who lives far away, can be part of mum's life still
