I have enjoyed my 2-week stay at Hazelmere, respite, recovering from a joint hip replacement. Management and reception are good. Many of the staff are excellent, have given encouragement and kindness, as well as their skills and good humour. There are lovely surroundings, both inside and outside the
home, and these are well-maintained. Food is generally good and plenty of variety, well presented and served. Medication taken care with. Thank you. I have been well supported.
Reply from Natasha Burns-Leigh, Customer Service Advisor at Hazelmere House Care HomeThank you for taking the time to leave this lovely review. We are so pleased to hear how much you enjoyed your respite stay at Hazelmere House and moreover, how much you liked the surroundings and the food. This was the perfect opportunity for post-operative care, for 2 weeks, as I could not have managed on my own (I live alone with no relatives). I was grateful for the meals brought to my room for the first few days. However, the quality of the meals seemed to deteriorate. At times, the advertised food
(e.g., Greek yoghurt) was just not available. For breakfast, sometimes there would be, e.g. bananas, sometimes not. Supplies of fresh fruit and vegetables were erratic. Quality of meals at times poor.
Reply from Natasha Burns-Leigh, Customer Service Advisor at Hazelmere House Care HomeThank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are pleased to hear how well you were taken care of during your respite stay at Hazelmere House. We will certainly pass on this feedback to the home manager to help them improve their quality of service around the food.

We had a very good friend there whom we used to visit at least once a week she was there for
Almost 3 years, And to be fair she always seemed content, however she used to get upset at times as when she felt there was a problem said she only got to see the manager a few times ,
Fortunately that changed
when a new manager took over. Also I have to say it was very evident,
First thing we noticed was the improvement in security as we always felt if was a bit unsafe but that's all changed now, also the whole place seems to have had a makeover,
Most importantly our friend was certainly very happy that she felt that she was listened to when she
had what she felt she needed to discuss anything, We also found the new management very approachable and most helpful , unfortunately our fiend passed away in January but felt we needed to say what a very friendly and caring place it has become,And to say a big thanks to manager and staff
for everything they did for her.
Reply from Alison Horridge, Customer Advisor on behalf of the team at Hazelmere House Care HomeWe're so grateful that you've taken the time to share your thoughts. We are saddened to hear about your loss. We are pleased to hear that you noticed improvements during your Friend's stay and we will discuss your feedback with the home's manager to help them continually improve their service. Hopefully you will go away from this feeling like your loved one received the best possible care

The whole team at Newton Court excell themselves on a daily basis but in this review I would like to praise the workmanship, manner and respectfullness of your Maintence guy (KE).
He is so helpful, understanding and caring when carrying out his work, whilst maintaining a professional manner.
He goes
over and above everytime, respecting dads space and interacting directly with him making him feel involved and that his opinion matters (which is so important). To top it all off his work is to a very high standard and he checks in later to make sure dad is happy and everything is working well.
I would also to praise the work of activities team (L & L) who offer both group and personalised one - one activities that are thoughtfully designed around individual needs but above all they are both fun and bring smiles all round which is priceless to see.
Nothing is too much trouble they are very encouraging and supportive to both residents and families.
These ladies are an integral part of NC!

My Aunt has been a resident at Hazelmere for some time, we viewed many care homes & the feel Hazelmere House has is just wonderful. All the staff greet you with a smile & friendly face. Nothing is too much trouble, we are always kept in the loop with my Aunts care. The home is warm, lovely decor, great
facilities & activities to suit everyone if you wish to participate. The nursing & care staff are amazing, kind & look after our Aunt very well. Such a relief knowing your loved one is being looked after so well.

I have been visiting my Sister regularly in Brookview Care Home since she was diagnosed with Dementia in October 25. It has been a difficult few months for all the family and we are still adjusting to life without her at her home.
Brookview Care Home has provided a permanent home for her in a safe
environment and security is excellent.
Management are very professional and the carers are very patient with the residents and aware of their individual needs. Residents are encouraged to partake in various activities and to spend time with other residents in the communal lounge and Dining area.

We, Barbara's family and friends have been very pleased with the care and safety she has received at Brookview. So much so that when she was moved from short term to long term residential care that despite looking at many other care homes we all agreed she was in the best place.

This is a beautiful, well-kept home in lovely surroundings, but what makes it outstanding are the people who work here. Without exception they are not only hard working and professional, but also friendly, warm and welcoming. They constantly go the extra mile to make the whole family feel truly cared

I visit a friend regularly and have always found the staff to be kind, patient and caring. On many occasions I've also observed carers chatting to the residents, bringing much-needed conversation to their sheltered lives, as well as snacks and drinks outside of meal times.
The activity schedule is
well thought out, and regular visits by "Bear", the care dog is a nice touch to bring contact with a pet, which so many residents will appreciate.
The single rooms are spacious and well-appointed if feeling rather functional.

For my in-laws, being at Mount Hall meant the best of medical attention, excellent food, a beautiful setting in which to live, company and friends, but most of all the attention of and support from a highly professional team of administrators, nurses, carers, housekeepers and maintenance staff, entertainment
coordinators, chefs and kitchen staff. Without the support the home offered, my parents-in-law's final years would not have been filled with so much laughter, fun and contentment. We always enjoyed our visits to Mount Hall, hearing about what had been happening during the week and also connecting with some of the other residents and their family members. The weekly friendly chats with members of staff were uplifting and we will miss visiting - Mount Hall has felt like a second home to us. All interactions with staff have been given with the spirit of human kindness.

I cannot express strongly enough how important the Hazelmere care home has been to my mother , Barbara.
It is no exaggeration to say that without the support and staff of Hazelmere I genuinely don't think mum would still be with us.
Everyone without exception operates at a high core level and several
go way beyond it, Rincy, Angela and Sneka are 3 that spring to mind as well as Tim who also can't do enough to support us.
Before Hazelmere we as a family were really struggling to accommodate mums extensive needs, whatever happens in the future we know she is in the best place she could be with people who care.
Thanks all at Hazelmere- you are appreciated so much

The level of care afforded to my mother over the past two years has been outstanding.
All members of staff display absolute professionalism in their work but always coupled with kindness and compassion. This has enabled my mother to settled into this new environment very comfortably and importantly
at her own pace. She always speaks so highly of those looking after her.
The standards of all facilities and the efficiency with which they run cannot be faulted.
