After making the incredibly difficult decision to move dad into Hazelmere and leaving mum continuing to live independently at home, the transition into Hazelmere was able to happen swiftly and to the pace required at the time.
After doing some research into local care homes in the area, I am now absolutely certain we made the right choice. I did an impromptu visit initially to see the place under usual circumstances. Hazelmere is well staffed with extremely welcoming and friendly people including managers, nurses and care staff. The place has even been cool and airy during this summer's heatwaves. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well maintained with more a feeling of a decent hotel at times rather than a care home.

Residents are safe and well supported and the food appears to be plentiful and of good quality. My mum is able to join my dad regularly for a lunchtime meal (at minimal cost) which is great as this also supports her independence too. Thank you Hazelmere House!

Mum moved to Hazelmere in September 2025 following a ten week stay in hospital having suffered a stroke. The care and kindness she has received at Hazelmere has been excellent and she has recovered well from the debilitating effects of her stroke.
From the moment we visited Hazelmere when viewing several other care homes it was clear that it would be a good fit for Mum's needs. Despite not having made an appointment we were shown around all the care facilities and received a clear and simple explanation of how the care home is operated. The feel was instinctively good and we haven't been disappointed. Nothing is too much trouble and the carers and management team are considerate, friendly and always readily accessible to listen to any requests or concerns.

Moving to a care home and losing much of your independence is a life changing event and the team at Hazelmere have definitely made a huge contribution to helping Mum adjust to this.

My Mum has been at the home now for just over a year and has settled in well .After losing my Dad having somewhere special to look after my Mum was the families top priority. The staff at Hazelmere especially Tim and the Nursing staff have been amazing at being there for my Mum when the family can't be .There always there for a catch up when we visit and look after my Mum so well making sure she has everything she needs.Making my Mums room look homely ,letting her have the family photos up on the walls and allowing her personel trinkets and memories from being with my Dad has shown they care.Highly recommended ,beautifully looked after and very clean and lovely staff who are always on hand when needed but step back when you need family time .Thankyou

Well, Hazelmere has been a miracle. Moving mum from Norfolk to Cheshire and across councils could have been so stressful but the team were so supportive (especially Tim).
As for the care, comfort, safety, homeliness, overall wondrousness of Hazelmere - I can't fault it. Mum has settled in so well, feels safe, cared for and has made friends with staff and residents alike. I honestly can't thank the team (and Tim) enough.

I've seen many homes around Manchester and Cheshire and this stands head and shoulders above them all. Thank you.

Mum needed respite as we knew she couldn't manage at home with a surgical boot on.
So when I walked into Hazelmere it was such a relief to be met with smiling faces.
Mum struggled at first as she really didn't want to be there but with the patience, smiles and support of the nursing staff she soon settled in. Her room was nice and clean and she could if needed, go and sit quietly with her tv.
Two months later I came to take her home, and she cried because she didn't want to leave!
So it was lovely to receive an email to say mum would be welcome to visit her friends, have lunch and join in some activities (which again she enjoyed).
With the lovely weather it was nice to visit and sit outside which I could see was well used by other residents.

All in all a lovely homely home which is well run and everyone is made to feel welcome from entering.

The staff are phenomenal at Hazelmere House Care Home. Tim in the office was beyond helpful during the process of moving my mum from the south of England to Hazelmere House. He helped me understand the steps and gave excellent advice so I could speak to the right people in the NHS too. He went above and beyond consistently and even helped us put pictures up in mum's room, something I'm sure is not his responsibility. The carers are so lovely and make such an effort with my mum, to help her feel at home and cared for. Nothing ever feels too much trouble. Jenny in the Activities team is also fantastic and so kind and engaging with all residents. The food is wonderful, my mum's room is gorgeous and we literally could not have asked for a better environment. I would recommend this home and the wonderful team of staff to anyone. Thank you Hazelmere House Team, you are all amazing people!

I have nothing but praise for the staff at Hazelmere. From talking to them to observing them whilst they do their job, it is clear they are passionate about their job. They always say hello when I go. It was a huge change for my gran after living independently to move to residential care. On our initial visit, the staff were really engaging with her which put her at ease. The activity team encourage her daily to join in with the activities downstairs.Communal areas, the dining room and residents rooms are always clean and welcoming.
I know that my gran is receiving the best care from the staff and she is safe.

Mum went from independent living to residential care after a fall. I looked at a number of homes and knew Hazelmere was the right place for Mum. There was no fancy sales pitch and nothing was hidden from view. I was invited to sit in a lounge where other residents were so I could see what it would be like for mum. It may not be the most glamorous or newest but all of the staff make it a very special place. Food is great and the menu appropriate for the age group of the residents. I no longer have sleepless nights wondering if mum has eaten or had a fall as I know that she is in a really safe place. Medical issues are picked up and dealt with promptly and professionally. A number of my friends have been to visit mum and they have also commented on how wonderful the home is and how amazing the staff are. Above all Mum is happy and there are plenty of wonderful activities on offer to keep her busy.

Knowing my mum had to be placed into care was an emotional time for us, but we were immediately put at ease by both the managers and the carers. It's clear that everyone is genuinely passionate about their roles and the care they provide.

All staff are employed directly by the company rather than through agency staffing, which ensures continuity of care and helps residents feel safe and secure. In terms of medical support, staff respond promptly if anyone becomes unwell, and they are well supported by the Surgery, who also visit every Tuesday.

The food is excellent, with a strong focus on providing proper nutrition for all residents. From the office team to the carers, housekeeping, and activities staff, everyone is exceptional. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone.

The selection process - the information provided on the home, both online and in person, was excellent and personalised.
Moving in - dealt with sensitively and timely so that dad settled in well.
Every day - Dad was unfortunately only in the home a couple of days, but was becoming used to the way the home worked.

The end - the nurses reacted quickly and offered good advice, calling for an ambulance and getting dad to hospital quickly.

I have enjoyed my 2-week stay at Hazelmere, respite, recovering from a joint hip replacement. Management and reception are good. Many of the staff are excellent, have given encouragement and kindness, as well as their skills and good humour. There are lovely surroundings, both inside and outside the home, and these are well-maintained. Food is generally good and plenty of variety, well presented and served. Medication taken care with. Thank you. I have been well supported.

This was the perfect opportunity for post-operative care, for 2 weeks, as I could not have managed on my own (I live alone with no relatives). I was grateful for the meals brought to my room for the first few days. However, the quality of the meals seemed to deteriorate. At times, the advertised food (e.g., Greek yoghurt) was just not available. For breakfast, sometimes there would be, e.g. bananas, sometimes not. Supplies of fresh fruit and vegetables were erratic. Quality of meals at times poor.

We had a very good friend there whom we used to visit at least once a week she was there for
Almost 3 years, And to be fair she always seemed content, however she used to get upset at times as when she felt there was a problem said she only got to see the manager a few times ,
Fortunately that changed when a new manager took over. Also I have to say it was very evident,
First thing we noticed was the improvement in security as we always felt if was a bit unsafe but that's all changed now, also the whole place seems to have had a makeover,
Most importantly our friend was certainly very happy that she felt that she was listened to when she
had what she felt she needed to discuss anything, We also found the new management very approachable and most helpful , unfortunately our fiend passed away in January but felt we needed to say what a very friendly and caring place it has become,And to say a big thanks to manager and staff

for everything they did for her.

I cannot express strongly enough how important the Hazelmere care home has been to my mother , Barbara.
It is no exaggeration to say that without the support and staff of Hazelmere I genuinely don't think mum would still be with us.
Everyone without exception operates at a high core level and several go way beyond it, Rincy, Angela and Sneka are 3 that spring to mind as well as Tim who also can't do enough to support us.
Before Hazelmere we as a family were really struggling to accommodate mums extensive needs, whatever happens in the future we know she is in the best place she could be with people who care.

Thanks all at Hazelmere- you are appreciated so much

Mum was in Hazelmere for 2 1/2 years. When we originally did the rounds of nursing homes in the area, Hazelmere stood out. We received a warm welcome and all the staff that passed us smiled and said hello.
As one would expect, it is a difficult transition from being in your own home to a care home but the staff made a real effort to get to know my mum and within a week or two she was on first name terms with them all. Whoever came into the room be there care staff, nursing staff, domestics, people taking food orders, all made time to speak to mum and ensure she was getting what she needed, this provided a great deal of reassurance.
There are a range of daily activities and all residents are encouraged to participate. If someone cannot get out of their room for a day or two, someone will come and visit.
When mum's health declined, the levels of care from the nursing staff were first rate, anticipating her requirements and ensuring she was always comfortable.

The whole team are fantastic

My Dad was in Hazelmere for respite care. We were very impressed from the beginning with how the Resident Experience Manager at Hazelmere made us as a family feel so welcome and how efficient he was making sure things were in place for my Dad eg: telephone system which was so important for my Dad to feel connected to his family.
The activities team always included my Mum when she visited my Dad and they have a great variety of activities. My Dad loved the garden centre trip. Hazelmere is also very well located for some green space to go for walks with residents as there is a park next door and also the grounds are nice to walk around too.

I have given 5 stars for everything as all the different teams including reception, administration, housekeeping, catering, maintenance, care and nursing team were very kind and helpful and really made a big difference to our overall experience and my Dad's care and wellbeing.

Mum went into Hazelmere for 18 days between Feb 2025 and March 2025. The preparation for mums stay was excellent, detailed care plan. On first visit I was very impressed with the 'feel' of the home. Caring for residents is my passion, and ensuring all their needs are met. I love engaging with families and the team to ensure Hazelmere House is a great place to live and work.

I am married with three grown-up children and a granddaughter who is five. I live in Knutsford, and in my spare time, I love spending time with my family, going on walks with our dog, having sunny holidays and socialising with friends!

I spent most of my career working as an IT specialist in the manufacturing industry and when I felt ready for a fresh challenge and a new start, I just found myself naturally drawn to the care sector. I am very grateful that Bupa and Hazelmere House gave me the opportunity.
My first role here was actually as the maintenance person back in 2011. I'd never even considered becoming the Resident Experience Manager, but when the opportunity came up I was encouraged to apply... and I guess the rest is history, because I've been in love with the role every since.
It's a really diverse and rewarding position. I tend to be involved in a lot of show-rounds and make sure the admissions process runs smoothly. I also support all the hotel services here in the home - they can be so important in making sure people feel comfortable and reassured.

It can sometimes be quite sensitive when people come for a visit so the very least we can give them is a warm welcome and complete honesty. Trusted advice doesn't cost a penny, but it can be invaluable - and from a personal perspective, I really do get a lot of satisfaction from feeling that I'm making a different and making people happier.

I was a registered nurse for 10 years in West Yorkshire, including roles in private nursing homes. I later worked for the youth criminal justice system. I love being back in a care setting; apart from the satisfaction of our team ensuring the home is clean & tidy, I love to talk to residents about their lives and achievements. We have a really friendly atmosphere here at Hazelmere House.

I live locally with my husband, daughter, dog and 2 cats. My two sons come and go as their careers allow. In my spare time, we enjoy listening to live music and going to the cinema & theatre. I keep fit kickboxing with my daughter & lots of dog walks!
