My husband was sent to Hazelmere from hospital following a ten-week stay. He was very confused at first not knowing where he was. However, he soon settled and though very poorly, he responded most days to the very caring staff, who were also very good to me. They allowed me to visit from the outside so I could talk to him through the window (he was lucky to be in a ground floor room). Everywhere looked beautifully cared for but because of the pandemic, I couldn't go inside.
Thank you for your understanding during such a difficult time. We appreciate it is very hard not being able to see your loved one for such a long time. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help.
My mother lived in her own home, she was 94, strong-willed and after another of many falls, was advised to move into a care facility. I am her daughter, and we live in the area; she agreed to move to Hazelmere. They were excellent, caring, friendly, concerned and attentive. They helped her attend her granddaughter's wedding, celebrated Christmas and her 95th Birthday in style with her family. She died with dignity and in peace, thanks to the care of staff - thank you.
Thank you for your kind words. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you or your family.
My wife arrived mid-February on a short stay following hospitalisation. After almost four months, my wife is leaving today. Care has been first-class by all involved with her care and support. There is nothing I can fault about the dedicated staff.
We are very happy to hear you feel like your wife was well looked after. We hope to see you again in the future.
My mother was a resident at Hazelmere House from September 2018 till she passed away in February 2020. During this time she had a very happy life due to the amazing staff, who cared for Mum with so much love and respect. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and all the family are comforted from the happy memories made there.
Thank you for your kind comments. We are very sorry about your loss. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you or your family.
Not happy that his false teeth gone missing.
Thank you for the positive feedback. We will certainly pass your comments on to the manager.
All the staff were friendly and went continually "above and beyond". They showed her and us; great love and care - right to the end.
I will always remember that and be thankful.
Thank you for such amazing feedback, we really appreciate you taking the time to leave your comments.
I had a very happy experience at Hazelmere. The staff are always welcoming and give me great care and attention. It is the only care home I've been in that lets me take a shower every day, and that is important to me.
Thank you for your feedback. Our resident’s health and well being is an absolute priority, so please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help.
My mother was a resident at Hazelmere House from early 2016. During which time we have seen three different managers in charge. The staff have been very, very kind. Everyone from nursing, carers, housekeepers, kitchen, cleaning, odd jobs, activities and hairdressers, everyone is so kind. My real appreciation is for the end of life care given to my mum (and previously to my dad). Good discission was really careful to respect mum's wishes, no fuss, no panic, and protecting her from unnecessary interventions.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We really appreciate the kind words.
She was cared for with consistent kindness and concern for her well being, despite being a difficult and demanding resident. At one stage she was asked to leave but no alternative could be found. She was completely bedfast and blind for her last six years and I am deeply appreciative of the care she received from nurses, care workers and others.
Thank you for trusting us with your sisters care. We are very saddened to hear your loss. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help you or your family.
My mother stayed at Hazelmere House whilst I and my family were on holiday. She was very happy here and commented on how helpful and friendly the staff were and made her feel very comfortable.
Thank you for your kind words. We are glad to hear your mother enjoyed herself at Hazelmere. We hope to see you again soon.
Grateful. I am looked after very well.
Thank you for such a lovely review.
We found the staff extremely caring and kind and any request we made was immediately carried out. They respected her privacy and dignity at all times.
Unfortunately, her health deteriorated but the standard of her end of life palliative care was compassionate and kind, not just to her but to our family as well.
I am pleased to highly recommend Hazelmere House.
Thank you for your kind words. We are saddened to hear about your loss and we can only hope Hazelmere did everything to help the family through such a difficult time.
The staff and residents have coped with the building renovations which have been going on for months very well. Hopefully, the completion date is in sight. My main complaint is that the heating is totally inadequate and must be sorted out before next Winter. It is nowhere near warm enough for people whose movement is restricted. The staff in the main are very helpful and kind to residents.
Thank you for your feedback, Andrea. Our resident’s health and well being is an absolute priority. We will discuss your feedback with the home’s manager to help them continually improve their service.
I know she has had the best care from management, nurses, carers and staff (residents come first).
I hope she will be there for many more years. Maybe one day I will have to be there.
I thank Bupa and everyone in Hazelmere.
Thank you fro your kind words. We are glad to hear that you are satisfied with how your sister is looked after. We have genuine regards for all of our residents so let us know if we can do anything to make your sister more comfortable.
Both my mum and dad are very settled and are being cared for, exceptionally well, in a lovely and friendly environment. All their needs are being thoroughly met and communication between the home and myself is excellent. As a family, we cannot praise ALL the staff enough. Everyone is very approachable and most helpful. We have the peace of mind knowing our parents are safe and being well looked after to a very high standard. Thank you!
Thank you for your review. We are very happy to hear the family can feel at ease with your father in our care. Your lovely comments are always appreciated.
Food - I enjoyed most of my meals, plenty of variety and well cooked and served, although occasionally what appeared on the menu did not appear on the plate.
Accommodation - This was not up to standard. I would have expected though this was probably due to the premises being redecorated. The room was quite shabby and not very welcoming.
Thank you for your review of Hazelmere House Care Home. We are pleased to hear that overall you have had a positive experience at the home and appreciate your comments regarding the accommodation situation. . We will discuss your feedback with the home’s manager to help them continually improve their service. The Bupa Customer Care Team
It can't be easy for staff to assess her needs in such a short time but this was reasonably achieved, although shower frequency could have been more.
The staff were easy to communicate with and had a good attitude.
Thank you for your review of our care home. We are pleased to hear that your Mum was well looked after on her respite stay and that the staff were helpful. We will share your comments with the home, to help them continually improve their service. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
Set in beautiful and quiet surroundings with well-maintained gardens, the care home is close to major outlet stores, parks, and garden centres for a trip out. This lovely care home and its staff offer daily and varied activities, which allows the residents to engage with each other and retain social activity. My mum was admitted on a short stay basis to Hazelmere back in March for respite after the local authority were unable to commit to a suitable care package in the home. Mum was anxious to begin with but with the loving and patient support of the staff, she began to trust the team who she relies upon to help her with her daily functional needs. The team engage with mum daily and care in a professional and sincere way, but best of all they give hugs and offer a smile which has made mums stay a very happy one. I cannot fault the service and support of all the team and manager who have also helped me come to terms with my mums declining health. I am so grateful for their support.
Thank you for your review of Hazelmere House, we are pleased to hear that your Mum has had a pleasant stay and was well cared for. We appreciate your comments of the home and glad the staff were supportive throughout the stay to both you and your Mother. Your comments will be shared with the care home's manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
Reminiscent of an old-fashioned hotel operation in a modern setting with modern facilities.
Great staff.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and are happy with the care they provide at the home. We appreciate your comments and will share these with the home's manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
I have been most impressed with the care my mother has received at the home. She has improved considerably since moving there 14 months ago. She had been in another home for 2 years and had very little interaction with other residents or staff and had become withdrawn and uncommunicative. Here the staff are all very friendly, she is helped to get up and go down for activities and is so much happier.
I'm really pleased to hear that your mother has settled in well and is enjoying activities at the home.

Meet the Team (4)

I have worked for Bupa for 5 years. I previously worked in the police force as a communications officer, followed by home care, where I then progressed into care homes and worked my way up to where I am today.
Caring for residents is my passion, and ensuring all their needs are met. I love engaging with families and the team to ensure Hazelmere House is a great place to live and work.
I am married with three grown-up children and a granddaughter who is five. I live in Knutsford, and in my spare time, I love spending time with my family, going on walks with our dog, having sunny holidays and socialising with friends!

I've worked at Bupa for 8 years and really enjoy my job and like the company I work for.
I get a lot of job satisfaction helping/supporting the residents, they are wonderful people who have a lot of interesting stories to tell.
Before working at Hazelmere I was a registered mental health nurse at Brookview care home.

My first role here was actually as the maintenance person back in 2011. I'd never even considered becoming the Resident Experience Manager, but when the opportunity came up I was encouraged to apply... and I guess the rest is history, because I've been in love with the role every since.
It's a really diverse and rewarding position. I tend to be involved in a lot of show-rounds and make sure the admissions process runs smoothly. I also support all the hotel services here in the home - they can be so important in making sure people feel comfortable and reassured.
It can sometimes be quite sensitive when people come for a visit so the very least we can give them is a warm welcome and complete honesty. Trusted advice doesn't cost a penny, but it can be invaluable - and from a personal perspective, I really do get a lot of satisfaction from feeling that I'm making a different and making people happier.

I was a registered nurse for 10 years in West Yorkshire, including roles in private nursing homes. I later worked for the youth criminal justice system. I love being back in a care setting; apart from the satisfaction of our team ensuring the home is clean & tidy, I love to talk to residents about their lives and achievements. We have a really friendly atmosphere here at Hazelmere House.
I live locally with my husband, daughter, dog and 2 cats. My two sons come and go as their careers allow. In my spare time, we enjoy listening to live music and going to the cinema & theatre. I keep fit kickboxing with my daughter & lots of dog walks!
