I have enjoyed my 2-week stay at Hazelmere, respite, recovering from a joint hip replacement. Management and reception are good. Many of the staff are excellent, have given encouragement and kindness, as well as their skills and good humour. There are lovely surroundings, both inside and outside the
home, and these are well-maintained. Food is generally good and plenty of variety, well presented and served. Medication taken care with. Thank you. I have been well supported.

This was the perfect opportunity for post-operative care, for 2 weeks, as I could not have managed on my own (I live alone with no relatives). I was grateful for the meals brought to my room for the first few days. However, the quality of the meals seemed to deteriorate. At times, the advertised
food (e.g., Greek yoghurt) was just not available. For breakfast, sometimes there would be, e.g. bananas, sometimes not. Supplies of fresh fruit and vegetables were erratic. Quality of meals at times poor.

We had a very good friend there whom we used to visit at least once a week she was there for
Almost 3 years, And to be fair she always seemed content, however she used to get upset at times as when she felt there was a problem said she only got to see the manager a few times ,
Fortunately that
changed when a new manager took over. Also I have to say it was very evident,
First thing we noticed was the improvement in security as we always felt if was a bit unsafe but that's all changed now, also the whole place seems to have had a makeover,
Most importantly our friend was certainly very happy that she felt that she was listened to when she
had what she felt she needed to discuss anything, We also found the new management very approachable and most helpful , unfortunately our fiend passed away in January but felt we needed to say what a very friendly and caring place it has become,And to say a big thanks to manager and staff
for everything they did for her.

My Aunt has been a resident at Hazelmere for some time, we viewed many care homes & the feel Hazelmere House has is just wonderful. All the staff greet you with a smile & friendly face. Nothing is too much trouble, we are always kept in the loop with my Aunts care. The home is warm, lovely decor,
great facilities & activities to suit everyone if you wish to participate. The nursing & care staff are amazing, kind & look after our Aunt very well. Such a relief knowing your loved one is being looked after so well.

What a lovely establishment. Staff are all incredible. The new manager is amazing and is perfect for the job she's caring and compassionate about every resident. Would always recommend this place. Make relatives feel so welcome and as if they matter too. Always good entertainment and or things going
on for the residents and visitors if they wish to.

I cannot express strongly enough how important the Hazelmere care home has been to my mother , Barbara.
It is no exaggeration to say that without the support and staff of Hazelmere I genuinely don't think mum would still be with us.
Everyone without exception operates at a high core level and
several go way beyond it, Rincy, Angela and Sneka are 3 that spring to mind as well as Tim who also can't do enough to support us.
Before Hazelmere we as a family were really struggling to accommodate mums extensive needs, whatever happens in the future we know she is in the best place she could be with people who care.
Thanks all at Hazelmere- you are appreciated so much

I can't praise this care home enough. Initially nervous my friend does not want to leave. She said never felt this happy in such a long time. Every member of staff she said has been wonderful towards her. Her only regret is that she didn't arrive sooner!
Thank you for taking such great care of her
and giving her the environment to thrive!

Mum was in Hazelmere for 2 1/2 years. When we originally did the rounds of nursing homes in the area, Hazelmere stood out. We received a warm welcome and all the staff that passed us smiled and said hello.
As one would expect, it is a difficult transition from being in your own home to a care home
but the staff made a real effort to get to know my mum and within a week or two she was on first name terms with them all. Whoever came into the room be there care staff, nursing staff, domestics, people taking food orders, all made time to speak to mum and ensure she was getting what she needed, this provided a great deal of reassurance.
There are a range of daily activities and all residents are encouraged to participate. If someone cannot get out of their room for a day or two, someone will come and visit.
When mum's health declined, the levels of care from the nursing staff were first rate, anticipating her requirements and ensuring she was always comfortable.
The whole team are fantastic

My Dad was in Hazelmere for respite care. We were very impressed from the beginning with how the Resident Experience Manager at Hazelmere made us as a family feel so welcome and how efficient he was making sure things were in place for my Dad eg: telephone system which was so important for my Dad
to feel connected to his family.
The activities team always included my Mum when she visited my Dad and they have a great variety of activities. My Dad loved the garden centre trip. Hazelmere is also very well located for some green space to go for walks with residents as there is a park next door and also the grounds are nice to walk around too.
I have given 5 stars for everything as all the different teams including reception, administration, housekeeping, catering, maintenance, care and nursing team were very kind and helpful and really made a big difference to our overall experience and my Dad's care and wellbeing.

Mum went into Hazelmere for 18 days between Feb 2025 and March 2025. The preparation for mums stay was excellent, detailed care plan. On first visit I was very impressed with the 'feel' of the home. It is clearly very well managed and all the staff were so kind and helpful. Mum loved her stay and
felt like it had been like a holiday. I knew she was being very well cared for which gave me peace of mind. Would definitely use again.

I am a firm believer that "Care is the Cure" and Hazelmere House Care Home have exceeded my expectations on all fronts with regard to the exceptional care they have given my Dad. Having worked in HR, I am always observant of the environment and culture in an organisation and my observations of
Hazelmere is it is the culture that makes such a positive difference - they are inclusive, person centred, professional and everyone works as part of a team in a very positive and supportive way with kindness and smiles. This includes how they work with any external parties like the physios, chiropodist, hairdresser and the GP surgery they work with as well. They are also really proactive in finding out what their residents like eg: food and activities and offer a wonderful variety of activities and food as well. My Dad summed up his feeling of being in Hazelmere as "right place right time" and I believe he is being given the best chance of recovery and respite after 6 weeks in hospital.

My lovely mum entered Hazelmere House for palliative care as she was end of life terminal Esopmageal cancer. She was 93 years old from 17th March to 1st April when she died she was treated with care, kindness, compassion, dignity and professional quality of nursing. Each and every member of staff,
without exception was wonderful. I chose this nursing home for mum because I consider it to be the best in all areas.

I have been resident at Hazelmere House Care Home for respite, after hospital and surgery, for the duration of 3 weeks, during which time, I have received the best of care and kindness from all staff. I would not hesitate to recommend Hazelmere House Care Home to anyone - for me a very wonderful and
fortunate find.

Hazelmere House Care Home is friendly, professional and caring. My mum feels well looked after, safe and happy. The staff are all friendly and clearly care about the residents. It is always pleasant to visit and witness such a lovely atmosphere. My mum has all her needs met and despite her
health requiring her to spend most of her time in her room, never feels isolated. Given the number of residents, it is a wonderful achievement. The staff take the time to get to know her. They maintain her dignity at all times and show respect for her as an individual. Communication is excellent on all levels. We are so happy that my mum is there and feel relaxed and reassured that she is getting the best care available.

My Mum stayed at Hazelmere for respite care for a period of 3 and a half weeks following a knee replacement. Mum was very happy there and treated very well. Every time I visited I found the staff to be very helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. I would like to thank the Manager for a
very well run care home and all the staff who worked very hard making my Mum's stay there very comfortable. I certainly would have no reservations in recommending Hazelmere to anybody who needed it.

Mum really enjoys her stay at Hazemere. She likes her room and with help is quite mobile around the home. Mum appreciates all the staff who she says are really kind and helpful. Close to her heart is food and she thoroughly enjoys all the meals which we have also sampled. A superb Sunday Lunch! She
enjoys the camaraderie of many if the guests - but especially enjoys the actives in the afternoon. The games (she is very competitive!), talks and demonstrations are all enjoyed! Perhaps a little more of this in the evening would make her stay perfect. We all appreciate Hazelmere and all the staff.

From the first viewing of Hazelmere House on behalf of my mum, I knew this was going to be home for her. The atmosphere is always warm, friendly and welcoming. The care is outstanding and that for me is a huge comfort, knowing she is safe. Plenty of good food and varied activities each day. The
rooms and communal areas are tastefully decorated. Hazelmere is everything I could have hoped for my mum.
06 December 2024
Mum really enjoyed staying at Hazelmere House Care Home - loved the staff, the food and facilities. The only negative comment was that she had her breakfast and supper in her room and not in the dining area - I don't know if this was because she wasn't aware that the facility was open or whether it
wasn't open.

Able to relax and recover without every day worries. Staff friendly and helpful even when very busy. Food excellent, varied and well prepared. Room is very comfortable and attractive.
