View Full Details of Hazelmere House Care HomeMum was in Hazelmere for 2 1/2 years. When we originally did the rounds of nursing homes in the area, Hazelmere stood out. We received a warm welcome and all the staff that passed us smiled and said hello. As one would expect, it is a difficult transition from being in your own home to a care home but the staff made a real effort to get to know my mum and within a week or two she was on first name terms with them all. Whoever came into the room be there care staff, nursing staff, domestics, people taking food orders, all made time to speak to mum and ensure she was getting what she needed, this provided a great deal of reassurance. There are a range of daily activities and all residents are encouraged to participate. If someone cannot get out of their room for a day or two, someone will come and visit. When mum's health declined, the levels of care from the nursing staff were first rate, anticipating her requirements and ensuring she was always comfortable. The whole team are fantastic
My Dad was in Hazelmere for respite care. We were very impressed from the beginning with how the Resident Experience Manager at Hazelmere made us as a family feel so welcome and how efficient he was making sure things were in place for my Dad eg: telephone system which was so important for my Dad to feel connected to his family. The activities team always included my Mum when she visited my Dad and they have a great variety of activities. My Dad loved the garden centre trip. Hazelmere is also very well located for some green space to go for walks with residents as there is a park next door and also the grounds are nice to walk around too. I have given 5 stars for everything as all the different teams including reception, administration, housekeeping, catering, maintenance, care and nursing team were very kind and helpful and really made a big difference to our overall experience and my Dad's care and wellbeing.
Mum went into Hazelmere for 18 days between Feb 2025 and March 2025. The preparation for mums stay was excellent, detailed care plan. On first visit I was very impressed with the 'feel' of the home. It is clearly very well managed and all the staff were so kind and helpful. Mum loved her stay and felt like it had been like a holiday. I knew she was being very well cared for which gave me peace of mind. Would definitely use again.
I am a firm believer that "Care is the Cure" and Hazelmere House Care Home have exceeded my expectations on all fronts with regard to the exceptional care they have given my Dad. Having worked in HR, I am always observant of the environment and culture in an organisation and my observations of Hazelmere is it is the culture that makes such a positive difference - they are inclusive, person centred, professional and everyone works as part of a team in a very positive and supportive way with kindness and smiles. This includes how they work with any external parties like the physios, chiropodist, hairdresser and the GP surgery they work with as well. They are also really proactive in finding out what their residents like eg: food and activities and offer a wonderful variety of activities and food as well. My Dad summed up his feeling of being in Hazelmere as "right place right time" and I believe he is being given the best chance of recovery and respite after 6 weeks in hospital.
My lovely mum entered Hazelmere House for palliative care as she was end of life terminal Esopmageal cancer. She was 93 years old from 17th March to 1st April when she died she was treated with care, kindness, compassion, dignity and professional quality of nursing. Each and every member of staff, without exception was wonderful. I chose this nursing home for mum because I consider it to be the best in all areas.
I have been resident at Hazelmere House Care Home for respite, after hospital and surgery, for the duration of 3 weeks, during which time, I have received the best of care and kindness from all staff. I would not hesitate to recommend Hazelmere House Care Home to anyone - for me a very wonderful and fortunate find.
Hazelmere House Care Home is friendly, professional and caring. My mum feels well looked after, safe and happy. The staff are all friendly and clearly care about the residents. It is always pleasant to visit and witness such a lovely atmosphere. My mum has all her needs met and despite her health requiring her to spend most of her time in her room, never feels isolated. Given the number of residents, it is a wonderful achievement. The staff take the time to get to know her. They maintain her dignity at all times and show respect for her as an individual. Communication is excellent on all levels. We are so happy that my mum is there and feel relaxed and reassured that she is getting the best care available.
My Mum stayed at Hazelmere for respite care for a period of 3 and a half weeks following a knee replacement. Mum was very happy there and treated very well. Every time I visited I found the staff to be very helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. I would like to thank the Manager for a very well run care home and all the staff who worked very hard making my Mum's stay there very comfortable. I certainly would have no reservations in recommending Hazelmere to anybody who needed it.
Having looked at lots of places, this one has the nicest atmosphere and lovely facilities and staff, who proved to be supportive and welcoming when my mother had a brief stay for respite. I would thoroughly recommend Hazelmere House Care Home to anyone and thank the management and staff for their kindness. One member of staff in particular was particularly kind to my mother and I'm so grateful.
Mum really enjoys her stay at Hazemere. She likes her room and with help is quite mobile around the home. Mum appreciates all the staff who she says are really kind and helpful. Close to her heart is food and she thoroughly enjoys all the meals which we have also sampled. A superb Sunday Lunch! She enjoys the camaraderie of many if the guests - but especially enjoys the actives in the afternoon. The games (she is very competitive!), talks and demonstrations are all enjoyed! Perhaps a little more of this in the evening would make her stay perfect. We all appreciate Hazelmere and all the staff.
From the first viewing of Hazelmere House on behalf of my mum, I knew this was going to be home for her. The atmosphere is always warm, friendly and welcoming. The care is outstanding and that for me is a huge comfort, knowing she is safe. Plenty of good food and varied activities each day. The rooms and communal areas are tastefully decorated. Hazelmere is everything I could have hoped for my mum.
Mum really enjoyed staying at Hazelmere House Care Home - loved the staff, the food and facilities. The only negative comment was that she had her breakfast and supper in her room and not in the dining area - I don't know if this was because she wasn't aware that the facility was open or whether it wasn't open.
We are delighted with mum's first month at Hazelmere, it is everything we hope for and more. All the staff are so friendly and helpful as well as there are plenty of them so always someone available to help and nothing is too much trouble. In mum's own words when I asked her how it is she said "I love it here!" I can't ask any more than that.
Able to relax and recover without every day worries. Staff friendly and helpful even when very busy. Food excellent, varied and well prepared. Room is very comfortable and attractive.
Excellent care was provided by all the staff to my father. He passed in January at the age of 101 in familiar and peaceful surroundings. Care and compassion was provided with good grace. We couldn't have asked for anything more. The home is always clean and tidy and the food is nutritious. If there was any care home to recommend, then I would have no hesitation in doing so for Hazelmere.
Hazelmere House is a very special place. Always top quality care from the wonderful staff and management team. The teams of care staff and management are always there when help and advice is needed. My husband is happy to call Hazelmere 'home'. He feels safe and well cared for at all times. Everyone has welcomed my husband and he has made many friends, As his wife, it has helped me to know my husband is settled and safe.
Very welcoming, friendly staff, efficient and happy. The food was good, and well presented with a good selection. The rooms were clean and fresh. All my needs were catered for. I would have preferred a shower every day but realise that the staff were extremely busy. I would also have felt safer with a shower stool with a back on but that is really the only negative thing I can say. The quizzes and activities were fun and I am looking forward to my next stay.
My Mum has been a resident at Hazelmere for over 2 years now. I could not ask for better care for her, she is always treated with the utmost respect and kindness and her preferences are accommodated. Her medical needs have increased over time and the nursing team have always been on top of all her treatments and medications. She has made friends with the other residents and greatly enjoys going down to lunch every day. When she is well enough to participate, she appreciates the great variety of activities that Home provides every week. The team are always very responsive to any requests and any maintenance issues etc. have been dealt with within 24 hours. The Home is very clean and the meals always look fresh and nutritious. I have no hesitation in recommending Hazelmere to anyone, whether for respite or residential care.
My friend really enjoys living here. All the care I have seen when I visit (at various times of the day) has been excellent, The variety of experiences is amazing, a really varied programme which I , and my friend, would never have expected. Lovely decore, always clean and sweet smelling. Excellent.
I had booked two weeks after a total hip replacement. The staff were so friendly, including housekeeping. I could not fault the nursing care.
