From the moment we had a look for a care home for my mum, the welcoming we received was above and beyond from each and every member of staff we came into contact with. The staff are always very helpful and supportive towards my mum, you can tell they enjoy what the do there are always cheerful with
smiles on their faces. They encourage her to join in on the activities which they have daily, which she is now joining in more with.
The cleanliness is exceptional all around the home and always smells fresh and clean .

Mum moved to Edmund House just before Christmas, and has settled in very quickly. The staff are lovely and have been very responsive to any requests or concerns we've had. Mum loves all the activities (especially the drumming!) and is the busiest and happiest we've seen her since Dad passed away. It's
a huge weight off mine and my sister's minds knowing that she's safe and happy, especially as neither of us are local so can't pop in as often as we'd like.
Reply from Natasha Burns-Leigh, Customer Service Advisor at Edmund House Care HomeThank you for your lovely review. We are looking forward to seeing you again.

My husband has had 5 two week respite care spells in Edmund House during 2025. He is always warmly welcomed, and although a dementia sufferer, he settles well and relates to the staff brilliantly. He eats very well, and the home have catered for his "soft" diet request and portions that are bite sized
for easy eating and swallowing.
The staff regularly check on him and have good "banter" with him. He is always comfortable in Edmund House, so I am able to relax and enjoy my respite days.

My mother has been a resident for over 4 months now, as her condition is progressing (dementia) I feel the care she is receiving is far beyond anything I could provide. It is outstanding, recently having contracted covid, 1/2 hourly checks were carried out and she was monitored constantly. The unit
is spotlessly clear and staff are on hand for any questions. Their behaviour in treating residents with dignity and compassion is obvious. It puts my mind at rest about her safety.

I didn't want to come into a care home. I was depressed and anxious. But after only a day, this changed. The staff were so kind and thoughtful. I was happy to be here. When the time comes, I will be back.

All in all my dad has a good time in this care home, and any concerns or difficulties which arise are often dealt with efficiently. The staff are good but as said in previous meetings, I wish the staff were able to spend a bit more quality time with each resident, not just my dad. Being short staffed
and busy are always the response, and still waiting to hear about my dad's P.A. It's been agreed he can have one, but no more has been said on the matter. An update would be appreciated. Thanks.

I visit my friend weekly, and I always find I'm greeted with warmth and friendliness. Great customer service. The home has a lovely feel to the place, with lots of laughter and care given to the residents. The activities which my friend takes part in are fun and engaging. I've sometimes asked a member
of staff for help (i.e. a blanket if we go out to more drinks, etc) and nothing is too much trouble. I visit a number of other care homes in the area, and I can honestly say I would recommend Edmond House without hesitation.

It is a joy to visit my great-aunt at Edmund House, she is sadly no longer the person she used to be but the activities co-ordinator is really good at getting her to remember things. The home is clean and hygienic, the staff are so caring and patient. The food looks good too!

Mum was staying here for 3 months while work was done on her house. She had never wanted to go into a care home but when the 3 months were over she was questioning if she wanted to go home! The staff were lovely and looked after her well. There are activities every day to join in with - music performances,
exercise, quizzes, crafts etc. Staff even walked over to the supermarket with residents if they needed to do some shopping or just went out for a walk.
The building is light and airy with lots of areas to sit. There always seemed to be residents sitting chatting in the main lounge. Rooms are nice and they were happy for you to bring furniture etc. The maintenance guy even hung pictures for us.
A doctor and nurse from the local health centre go in every week for non urgent issues.
Mum felt cared for, safe and had plenty to keep her occupied. She wants to reserve "her room" for if she ever needs to go back. :-)

Mum went into Sandhills Scunthorpe for respite following two weeks in hospital, after a fall. We chose Sandhills out of 4 choices following a meeting with the manager and receptionist. Six weeks later and we are happy with the choice. All of the staff have been friendly, approachable and very helpful
to mum and me. And the safety of residents and security is very reassuring.
