Whilst my aunt has been at Nairn Care Home, she has been treated extremely well and couldn't of asked for more. My aunt is going home tomorrow, 29/5/26, and I have to say I will miss coming to the home every day. I have been very welcomed, and the staff listen to anything you have to tell them.
Reply from Natasha Burns-Leigh, Customer Service Advisor at Nairn House Care HomeThank you for your kind words. We are so pleased to hear that your aunt has enjoyed her respite stay with us at Nairn House and that you found it to be so welcoming. Clare House has been my home from home for the past two years and shortly I will be leaving and going back to my real home as I have become more mobile.
I have spent my time here at Clare House being supported and looked after by the wonderful and professional staff who have encouraged me in my endeavours
to become fit as I learn to walk again and who have always been there for me. Whether it be to make sure I have taken my medication, need personal care, have clean clothes to wear, that I've eaten from a menu of great meals, that I've got plenty to drink, kept my room clean, and even involved me with the varied activities with a chance to mix with other residents. The staff have always found time to have a laugh and share a joke and even wipe my tears away at times when I was struggling mentally. I could not thank them all enough and I just want them to know they have been my second family... and I love them all very much. I will never forget them.Â
Reply from Natasha Burns-Leigh, Customer Service Advisor at Clare House Care HomeThank you for sharing your experience with us. Mum has been in Nairn House for a year. I have been visiting regularly throughout this time. There have been no regrets at all in accepting this placement. In fact it has been an honour to have my mother cared for in Nairn House. Every staff member from the kitchen team, cleaning team, care team, nursing
and management, even admin and maintenance deserve praise. All of these people work together to provide a gold star environment which is evident in all of my visits. It is a welcoming house where both my mother and myself feel at home. Thanks to you all.

My experience with Havelock Carehome is very positive. My mother was weak & frail when she arrived in Feb 2023, but now looks much more flourishing at the age of 98. The care she is given is extremely good, she is always clean and presentable at anytime of day when I arrive to see her without notice.
I could not manage on my own, due to no other family members to assist with my mother. The Carers are all doing their best and busy from room to room and they always pleasantly greet me at all times. My mum feels comfortable and safe by seeing familiar faces and hearing the same voices, plus there are numerous activities to do if she wishes. I am so Grateful & Thankful to the whole team in Havelock Court Carehome.

The home is described as opulent and yet the decor is tired partcularly in communial hallways on the ground floor where much of the paintwork is significantly chipped and down to bear wood.
Residential fees have increased but there have been subtle cut backs. For example the faux out of season flowers
at the entrance, a reduction in live entertainment. A walk in the garden and reminiscing is not entertainment. An afternoon film does not cater for residents who have poor vision.
For main meals residents are given an option of 2 meals versus explaining other food is available. Also the tray liner and napkins have disappeared.
There appears to be fewer staff at times on duty.
Finally I really object to the home asking for raffle gifts etc. This is a BUPA facility and should be able to have a slush fund for this. A resident recently won a raffle and the bottle of drink had someone else's name written all over it and the seal was partial broken.
Reply from Alison Horridge, Customer Advisor on behalf of the team at Harts House Care HomeThank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations on this occasion. We would like to reassure you that we are continually investing in the home, including recent redecoration, new furniture, garden improvements such as a new patio, and additional artwork currently being installed. Our activities programme is designed to offer a variety of options to suit different needs and preferences, and we continue to review this to ensure inclusivity. Our catering team carefully prepares menus that meet residents' dietary requirements, with alternative options always available. Staffing levels are regularly reviewed to ensure residents receive appropriate support. Fundraising activities such as raffles are entirely optional and aimed at supporting community engagement. We would encourage any concerns to be raised directly with the management team so we can address them promptly. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss this further.

The staff at the Kensington consistently go out of their way to support my parents.
Medically, they are on top of the various conditions, medications and co-ordinating with visiting GP to manage symptoms. My father has multiple conditions, with conflicting requirements. However, I am very confident
he is getting the best medical care he could.
The home has gone the extra mile to help them with the transition, constantly smiling and encouraging them. The number of activities organised to keep my parents stimulated and entertained exceeded my expectations.
Everyone on the staff is incredibly friendly and positive.

My wife has been in Clare House for almost two years, initially unable to do very much due to a severe brain infection. She's a young at heart 75 year old. But with regular private Physio and my encouragement she is on the verge of coming home. The environment at Clare House has helped her on the way.
The friendly, professional manner along with a group of people who are like one big happy family has made her stay so very special. She and indeed I will miss them all so much. Finding Clare House is truly the best stroke of luck we have had since her illness. We can thoroughly recommend Clare House, and thank each and every staff member for helping my wife on her journey to better health and keeping her so well cared for.
Paul.
