My Mum has only been at Abbotsleigh Mews just over a month, it has taken her a little time to get used to her new surroundings, the staff have been very helpful and kind especially a big mention to Ruth who is fantastic at doing her job, not only that she gets all the residents involved in the activities which has helped my Mum settle in for which we are very grateful.

Thank you to Jenny and all the staff working in Smythe on the hottest day of the year so far.

While working hard in this heat to keep the residents as safe and comfortable as possible staff still manage to remain cheerful and caring.

My mum has been in Abbotsleigh mews Mac unit for four years this month. My sister and myself are very happy with the way mum is being looked after. A lot of the staff mean so much to my mum especially Ruth in charge of activities. Ruth goes above and beyond her duties. She said to me once. it's lovely when you see a small light come back to a patient. This happened to my mum with Ruth this week. Ruth sent me a video of my mum singing and asked if mum was in a choir. I said yes the Swanley coral society. Mum remembered that and had already told Ruth. This was such a special moment for mum Ruth and myself.I can never thank Ruth enough for sharing this with me. I know it makes all her hard work worth it moments like this with patients. Also Clair the hostess is very loved by my mum. My sister and I would like to give a great big THANK YOU to all the staff at Abbotsleigh for the great care and continuing care given to our mum .

A huge thank you to all the carers, nurses staff and the entire team for the love and care you provide to my Mum. Macmillan team you have been amazing with Mum's care; this has had a positive impact on her and all of us. Mum now has more of a social life than I do and that's a big thank you for getting her out and involved in activities. Wonderful and friendly team and I couldn't ask for more.

My mum is currently at Abbotsleigh for respite after being in hospital for a considerable amount of time. The care she has been receiving is brilliant and to see her happy and safe is such a relief for me. She has a purpose in life again and is loving being there. She has her own room which we have been able to decorate with lots of her personal items to make it feel more like home. The staff are amazing and have all been really lovely and caring. I do have to give a particular shout out to Jenny who has been so lovely and supportive to both my mum and I. You can tell how much she cares. I know my mum is in safe hands when I leave her after my visits. I really hope my mum considers staying here as she has loved having people around her every day, participating in the entertainment (she told me she played golf the other day!) and she is loving the social part of being in a community - something she does not get when living at home. I would definitely recommend this care home.

From the first time I met Kelly and Jen when they came to visit mum at home, I felt reassured she would be well looked after. Kelly, the manager, was professional, approachable and clearly runs the home with the right values. Jen, the senior, was equally kind and attentive. Both took the time to really listen and understand mum, which made a difficult decision much easier.

The home itself is quite simple and no-frills, but what it may lack in luxury it more than makes up for in the people who work there. The staff are warm, caring and treat the residents with genuine respect and kindness.

I also really value that I'm welcome to visit at any time, day or night, which shows the openness and confidence they have in the care they provide.

Knowing mum is surrounded by people who genuinely care gives me real peace of mind.

To date, we have found the experience very positive. Being kept informed of any health issues that have arisen, my aunt seems happy and content. I especially would like to mention Ruth, the activities lady. That has gone well above and beyond of her interaction with my aunt and other residents I have observed when visiting the home.

Apart from the excellent care my mother is receiving, I wanted to remark on the excellent communication we receive from Abbotsleigh. We received intermittent and very few updates on activities, monies remaining and the recent comms on issues with the new portal. I greatly appreciate all the engagement information, and the monthly updates on invoices.

My mum Violet stayed in Smythe for five years; she was very happy there. Sadly, she fractured her hip and moved into Berens Unit. The staff and carers on both units were kind, supportive and caring.

The staff would always take time to talk to me. Sadly, Mum passed away in Berens, she was only there 3 weeks. I was with Mum when she passed, and the care and support I had was lovely. My mum's end of life was exceptional. All the staff are so kind, including the office staff. I would not hesitate to recommend Abbotsleigh Mews. Thank you.

Mum was a resident in Calvin House for just over 3 years until she passed away at the beginning of October. She always told me how much she "liked it here". She was always treated with dignity and respect. All the carers were conscientious and had a great deal of empathy, especially during Mum's last few days.
Mum enjoyed the activities and enjoyed singing and dancing when she was able.
I enjoyed visiting Mum and having coffee and a chat. She loved to talk.

The carers were diligent in recording Mum's eating and drinking. If ever Mum was unwell or needed review the senior carers were always very proactive. I can't fault the care on Calvin House.

My mum has been a resident since April 25
after suffering a massive stroke
As a family we were dubious about putting her in a care home however the staff have definitely put us at ease and we don't have to worry about her being cared for, all the staff play their part in making mum feel at ease and try to encourage her to take part in any activity that may be going on

If we have any questions or queries relating to anything we can always rely on Akash, Mel or Alice to answer them.

My Mum has been very well cared for in the 2 1/2 years she's been at Abbotsleigh Mews. She has severe physical disabilities following a stroke and she has been totally reliant on the exceptional nursing care she has received. Additional to her physical care, she has been treated with real affection. The care staff chat with her and make her laugh. The unit is always kept very clean and the gardens are absolutely lovely.
