Apart from the excellent care my mother is receiving, I wanted to remark on the excellent communication we receive from Abbotsleigh. We received intermittent and very few updates on activities, monies remaining and the recent comms on issues with the new portal. I greatly appreciate all the
engagement information, and the monthly updates on invoices.

My mum Violet stayed in Smythe for five years; she was very happy there. Sadly, she fractured her hip and moved into Berens Unit. The staff and carers on both units were kind, supportive and caring.
The staff would always take time to talk to me. Sadly, Mum passed away in Berens, she was only
there 3 weeks. I was with Mum when she passed, and the care and support I had was lovely. My mum's end of life was exceptional. All the staff are so kind, including the office staff. I would not hesitate to recommend Abbotsleigh Mews. Thank you.

Mum was a resident in Calvin House for just over 3 years until she passed away at the beginning of October. She always told me how much she "liked it here". She was always treated with dignity and respect. All the carers were conscientious and had a great deal of empathy, especially during Mum's
last few days.
Mum enjoyed the activities and enjoyed singing and dancing when she was able.
I enjoyed visiting Mum and having coffee and a chat. She loved to talk.
The carers were diligent in recording Mum's eating and drinking. If ever Mum was unwell or needed review the senior carers were always very proactive. I can't fault the care on Calvin House.

My mum has been a resident since April 25
after suffering a massive stroke
As a family we were dubious about putting her in a care home however the staff have definitely put us at ease and we don't have to worry about her being cared for, all the staff play their part in making mum feel at ease
and try to encourage her to take part in any activity that may be going on
If we have any questions or queries relating to anything we can always rely on Akash, Mel or Alice to answer them.

Just to provide feedback on the high standard of care that the activities coordinator and staff give to Florence.
They lift her spirits and keep her active and involved.
It's been the best care home she has been in.

Our mum was treated with dignity in Berens unit. The staff were wonderful. The room needs a little attention, but the very happy mum spent her last few years here.
She passed away here peacefully, and she was treated with love and dignity.

My Mum has been very well cared for in the 2 1/2 years she's been at Abbotsleigh Mews. She has severe physical disabilities following a stroke and she has been totally reliant on the exceptional nursing care she has received. Additional to her physical care, she has been treated with real affection.
The care staff chat with her and make her laugh. The unit is always kept very clean and the gardens are absolutely lovely.

measures that have also been put in place.

My experience has been a pleasant one. The staff team are caring, compassionate and show great empathy when dealing with my sister and us as a family. We have been included in every part of her transition into the home and have made a good relationship with the staff. The staff throughout the home
always greet you with a smile and it has a family atmosphere

We had our ups & downs but generally they were very good with Mum. Mum really liked one lady, I feel this is because she is particularly caring and understanding and an asset to your care home.

My mum lived here for eight years. At all times she was treated with kindness, respect, care and huge understanding. She was nurtured and greatly loved as was our family. She participated in a range of activities which included trips out, concerts, visits by various animals, making cards, colouring
and attending parties. I thoroughly recommend it.

Dad was in the care home due to his dementia. He didn't want to be there and put up quite a fight with his carers. They were so good with dad and treated him with care and respect. Eventually he settled and had a great relationship with the staff who could share his sense of humour. Dad passed away
recently and the care and support they gave to him and his family during his end of life care was amazing and will not be forgotten by us.

My Mum has been in Abbotsleigh Mews for 3 weeks and she has Dementia, she is very frail and has just suffered a stroke (her verbal communication is now very difficult). She is in the nursing and Dementia unit. The Manager and staff are all compassionate, caring and empathetic with my Mum, who can
sometimes be very difficult due to the dementia and frustration of being unable to communicate easily. My Mum is being very well cared for by the friendly and helpful staff, who are all amazing. It is with great relief, that my Mum has now finally found the care that she so desperately needs, when asking anything of the manager/staff nothing is too much trouble. There is no comparison with the care provided for my Mum in Abbotsleigh Mews compared to a previous care home where the care was very poor.

My Dad has been at Abbotsleigh since Dec 24. He has dementia and gets very anxious. The activity coordinators have gone above and beyond to reassure him and get him to be involved in activities, which is making him feel more settled.
04 March 2025
I am happy with the care my mother is receiving under the circumstances her condition is not exactly reversing. She seems to be comfortable, the care home is warm and clean. The staff are polite and friendly. I do feel at ease any questions the staff are happy to answer.
