The staff are dedicated, kind and caring and have made a difficult circumstance much more bearable. I feel confident in leaving my mother in their good care which takes away some of the pressure from me. I feel that the staff have made an effort to get to know my mother as a person, not just an older and infirm lady.

The care and respect my mum received was second to none. She was so loved by all of the staff and was happy. My mum sadly died of Alzheimer's and as a family, we could not of wished for a better home for her to stay in. Staff have a real compassion and are working at Abbotsleigh Mews Care Home because they love their jobs. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. Mum was so cared for. Thank you to all the staff.

My cousin was moved from a spell in hospital to Abbotsleigh Mews when her residential care home refused to take her back. I was concerned because she had settled in her previous home after returning from Spain. She has not been in the new home for one week and is much happier, the staff are so kind. The atmosphere is very welcoming and it feels just like being with friends and family. Wish I had chosen this home before!

Like all care homes, I feel it is understaffed and residents need more conversation, stimulation and attention. Having said that, all the staff are beyond compare and are really caring and do their very best, they are all extremely hard working. However, I've noticed that there appears to be fewer staff and the place can seem very empty, especially in the afternoons, with no-one around to speak to. Recent times have been very hard for all of us, I don't mean this as a criticism of the staff in any way, it's more about staff to resident ratio. I'm also finding that the phone is now answered more, when it hasn't been over this past year, which is a relief when I have concerns. I feel that something could have been done to help ensure that there would be someone around to answer the phone. I have concerns about the electric gates on entering the home, it seems to take an inordinately long time to get them mended when they go wrong, which raises safety and security issues.

All staff I have had contact with especially during the covid lockdown have been caring and compassionate. They have made every effort to ensure I have continued contact with my mother-in-law within the legally permitted restrictions despite the considerable additional workload they have had to bear. The weekly Facetime calls have been so very much appreciated. Thank you to everyone for going the extra mile.

My mum always said "please don't put me in a care home", but when we had no choice, we visited Abbotsleigh Mews, and Mum's opinion completely changed! She loved the look of the gardens, the building, the rooms, and especially, the great banter with the staff! She has now been a resident for two and a half years, and I cannot fault the place. Thank you, guys!

Abbotsleigh has been perfect for my dad. They have cared and advised me about how dementia progresses of which I was never aware. The two key workers have been amazing with any issues and know my dad very well. They sing with him, and another member of staff is amazing too with her experience. It doesn't feel like a care home. Another carer has such a calm listening voice. These carers have done an amazing job. Our unseen heroes. Well done!

My mother came in on March 15th 2021. The staff could not be more caring and helpful, any time of day with our constant calls etc. They have a fabulous team and I love the fact they have pets on site. Found the room immaculate. It has taken a big load off our family knowing our mum is safe and cared for.

My mum has been in Smythe House for approximately 4 years and without this care and attention, she would not be with me today. I cannot thank everybody involved enough especially through the nasty covid. She is safe and well. Thank you so much especially through the last year which has been very hard for everyone involved. You have kept her alive and well for me. Thank you. She is my everything.

Have always found the staff from management to nurses and cares extremely helpful and co-operative. The staff have been cheerful, truly professional and competent, and have often gone beyond the call of duty. The premises are well cared for and bright and cheery. I am deeply satisfied with the care, help and attention are given to my dear wife, even in the past two years at the home. Even with the trying and difficult times experienced throughout the period of covid-19, the staff at all levels have performed extremely well and keeping me informed at all times as required.

Our mum has been at Abbotsleigh Mews since February 2020. She resides in Macmillan House, the nursing house. She needs 24/7 nursing care due to a huge stroke during an unexpected heart operation in January 2018.
She moved from a private and much more expensive home in Erith. We weren't happy at all with that private home.
Since Covid, the staff have had to deal with very difficult circumstances all round. They still always answer calls and emails immediately. They have done a great job in helping us stay in contact with our mum despite the tricky situation.
We were concerned that our mum was spending too much time in bed. When we spoke to staff, it transpired that our mum was saying she preferred that. However, with gentle encouragement from the lovely carers, she now is spending more time in the Lounge and joining in home life as best she can.

We feel our mum is in a caring and safe home.

My parents both moved into Abbotsleigh Mews in late July after discussions with a palliative care nurse who suggested that a care home would be the best place for them both. My father had terminal cancer and my mother has Alzheimer's. We had visited Abbotsleigh Mews last year and were impressed by what we saw, so contacted them.

My father was extremely well cared for in his last weeks which my family and I will always be grateful for. My mother is happy and content and well cared for by all the staff, especially during these difficult times we are all experiencing with Covid.
