Staff are very friendly and are helping Mum and family in any way, making Mum feel as comfortable as possible and she is enjoying her stay here.

As a family new to the home home we are very pleased with almost every aspect. Dad is well cared for and if we ever have any concerns we feel as a family we are listened to. Dad said he loves the home and is happy. At the moment we know medication is being reviewed for the best way Dad can get a good nightly sleep without being drowsy the next day. One staff member in particular is the epitome of care.

My mum has been a resident since August 2023. The staff have been fantastic, they are all so caring and are looking after my mum incredibly well. Her room is always clean and they ensure she is treated with respect and dignity. She has vascular dementia and at times becomes anxious and confused, they always reassure her and comfort her when needed. Knowing she is being well cared for and in a safe environment is such a relief and support.

I would like to make a special mention to one staff member and the way she always seems to bring a smile to everyone’s faces not only the residents but the families as well. As well as seven other staff members but to be honest all the staff I have met provide care and support of the highest standard. Thank you.

My father has been at Abbotsleigh Mews Care Home for over two years. He is safe there. He is well looked after. His needs are well met. He gets plenty of fresh air and is engaged and entertained. The home has beautiful grounds and is clean and maintained with care. The staff truly care about him for which I am immensely grateful.

My father was staying at Abbotsleigh Mews Care Home between September 2022 until he died there in March 2023. He had Vascular Dementia and Alzheimer’s and was looked after incredibly well by all the staff. They were very kind to him and also my mother who visited regularly. Both rooms he had looked out onto the garden, were always clean and suitable for his needs. We had looked at several homes before deciding on Abbotsleigh Mews. We cannot thank you enough for your kindness and compassion shown to us all during my father’s illness.

During the days leading up to and on his death and in the months before, the care home staff demonstrated humanity at its very, very best. And for that, we are profoundly grateful. Thank you.

We want to say a huge thank you for the care and love you gave to our mum, nan, great nan. Your care and attention has been exemplary not only to our mum but also to us as a family and we cannot thank you enough.

During the last two months since Xmas Macmillan House has been very short of staff, which makes the tasks much harder for the small amount of staff that are working. My mum likes familiarity and gets upset when the carers she is used to move to other units or is not working on her end of the unit and then she has to get used to other carers. I am very concerned that the internal doors are not working which makes it very difficult for residents and workers to manage, I have complained!

Sometimes my husband has no socks on when I come in. At weekends not so many staff are here to assist him in having drinks and left on own more than in the week. But all in all, he is well cared for and the staff are very friendly with activities for the clients.

Mum's needs are taken of very well. Communication between staff and extended family is very good. Activities and very clean.

I leave this review on behalf of all of my mother-in-law's family. My mother-in-law was transferred to the MacMillan Unit at Abbotsleigh Mews Care Home for end-of-life care, sadly she was only there 2 days before she passed. But in that time she received more compassion, dignity and care than she had from the hospital she was transferred from. Our only regret is that we could not of gotten her transferred sooner so she could have witnessed for herself and appreciated the outstanding care of the staff involved in looking after her. They constantly ensured she was clean, comfortable and without pain. As a family, we could ask no more. Thank you.

I cannot rate the management section as I have not had the opportunity to meet with them. This is something that may happen in the future as it is still early days.

I would recommend this place to anybody. The service I've had personally has been first-class. Good food, good service (personal) and perfect. The room and toilets are spotless and easy to parking.

My mum was in the lounge enjoying interacting with the entertainment, laughing and singing. Seeing my mum so happy is wonderful, having entertainment there really brings the residents to life.

All staff (including managers) on the Macmillan unit are friendly, enthusiastic and positive. They have an excellent understanding of each resident's individual needs and are prepared to go the extra mile to meet these. The staff provide residents with a wide range of activities and are very approachable and readily available to answer and address any concerns and queries. I would like to see more of the managers at the care home as a whole more often around the home.

Great staff, caring and they make time. Good food and the home is clean and tidy. Good communication with staff and manager. I feel happy and confident she is here.

My mother was a resident for 8 months with Dementia. Her care was above and beyond all we could expect from looking after her. She was happy with her new family and always looked very smart and clean. We thank all the staff at Calvin House and will miss seeing them all, always with a warm welcome when we arrived.

Both my parents have been resident since early 2022. The care and compassion they have both received has been exemplary. It was traumatic for me as their only child, but the staff on Calvin House have all been wonderful and so supportive. A special thanks to four members of staff in particular.
