Elmstead has four comfortable lounges that are ideal for socialising, relaxing or welcoming visitors. Other facilities include an onsite hairdressing salon and well-maintained gardens that include spacious patio areas, summer house and pond. The home also has visiting chiropodists, opticians and dentists (arrangement by appointment when needed).
The chef takes a personal approach to diet, and meals are catered to individual tastes. There are always cold snacks and alternatives available throughout the day.
There’s a real sense of community at the home. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests.
Having its own large activities room and dedicated activities team, allows Elmstead to offer a seven-day activities programme. From weekly breakfast club, baking clubs, live entertainment, school half-term family days which involve children from the local community, craft mornings with the local nursery, movement to music and visiting animals to name a few, there is always something going on.

One or both of my parents have been residents at Elmstead for the last 12 years and I have been a very regular visitor during this time. The effort all the staff went to during Covid to keep everyone safe and happy was incredible. When my father was end of life, they could not have done more to care for him in what was then,the only home he knew. Whilst it may not have all the 'bells and whistles' of other homes, the strength of Elmstead is the Management team and all the staff who make it a warm and friendly place to live. My mum enjoys the food (especially the afternoon cakes) and there's always a good variety of activities for the residents' entertainment.

This care home is very, very good. They clearly work hard at getting the right staff in to care for the elderly. Mum as always been looked after extremely well - and they keep me and her up to date with everything.

The vast majority lovely doing their best given that 12 shifts are not natural for the body yet they do their job with diligence care + smiles. Such a lovely place both for residents + staff. All thanks to Emma now retired. What a legacy!!

The manager and deputy took a very personal interest in those in their care, making every effort to get to know my mother in law and to welcome her into the community. This attitude was seen throughout the care staff, who were warm and friendly. My wife, myself, and visiting friends also felt very welcome and included. We were surprised at how soon she began to settle into her new home. We noticed that the space and layout limitations of the building had been cleverly used to the residents' advantage, providing a warm, cosy atmosphere.

Mum was at Elmstead since October 2024, I genuinely could not have asked for a better place for her. All of the staff, no matter their role, have been kind, supportive and respectful of mum all whilst allowing her to be herself and flourish (which is hard with progressing dementia). Without exception, everyone treated my mum as if she were their family member. I just wished she'd had longer there. I was very wary of mum joining a home permanently, but I really needn't have worried. The home manager and the team are truly amazing.

This is an excellent care home. The staff really get to know the personalities of all the residents, which enables a good rapport. They also get to know the relatives and always provide a warm welcome. This makes for a very friendly atmosphere and it's always a pleasure to visit. The care provided is second to none and regular updates are always provided. It was a very sad/emotional day when the time came for a move to a nursing home - not only for me but the staff as well! To all the staff - thank you for everything that you have done over the last 7 years or so.

They always take time to talk to residents and visitors and the fact that they are a stable team with many long-serving members means that there is a consistent level of care which is beneficial to the residents. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to others based on the care shown to the residents.

There is no better place than one's own home but having to stay at Elmstead has been made a whole lot easier because of the staff. The carers here are top-class (excellent).

My father-in-law moved into Elstead Care Home from the hospital. The staff are all very helpful and caring. Nothing is too much trouble for us as a family. It now gives us our time as we know dad is being well cared for and is safe.

Really lovely care home. Mum stayed while I went on holiday, she was recovering from hip surgery and I wheeled her in, when I returned to collect her she was walking with a stick. I was amazed. Wonderful place with wonderful staff.
