When you enter the home, you are greeted by Margaret, who is a very pleasant lady. We have a laugh with her, just like all the staff, but being efficient at the same time. Ruth runs a good ship; everyone is there to help.

I cannot speak highly enough of the care and support my mother has received at this care home.
From the very beginning, the staff have shown kindness, patience, and professionalism during what has been a very difficult and distressing time for our family. My mother has advanced dementia and complex
needs, and the team have consistently treated her with dignity, compassion, and respect.
The staff are calm, attentive, and highly skilled in managing challenging situations. They have communicated clearly and regularly with me and are willing to listen and respond thoughtfully to my concerns about Mum. It is clear that they care about the residents as individuals, get to know them and are aware of their needs.
When my mother's issues escalated, the care home acted promptly, involving specialist services and ensuring she received the support she required. This gave me great confidence that her safety and well-being were their priority at all times. Thank you for giving me peace of mind.

As a resident living with a spinal cord injury, I have had a very positive experience at this care home. The staff clearly understand the complexities of spinal cord care and consistently provide support with professionalism, skill, and respect.
My dignity, independence, and personal routines are
always respected. Staff are attentive to pressure care, positioning, and timely assistance, and I am listened to and involved in decisions about my care.
The home is exceptionally well led under the leadership of Chris, whose commitment to high standards and compassionate, person-centred care is reflected in the quality and consistency of support provided.
The environment is clean, calm, and well organised. Living with a spinal cord injury brings daily challenges, but this home has made them easier to manage. I feel safe, supported, and respected, and I would confidently recommend this care home.

Mum came to Croft House in July 2025 following serious illness leaving her bed bound. With the help and encouragement of staff she is now able to walk small distances. She is an active participant in the carpet bowls and has enjoyed much of the entertainment visiting the home. She enjoys the food and
loves that all the staff will stop for a chat or friendly word. All of the staff go above and beyond and are quite happy to multi task if necessary. From a personal point of view, I am now after quite a few years, able to visit my mum as her daughter and not her carer, cook and general handy person, knowing that she is being taken good care of 24/7.

If you are looking for a care home for your loved one then I would strongly recommend BUPA - Hatfield Peveral Lodge.
My Father had dementia and was a resident for just 3 months (Oct 2025-Jan 2026) and you couldn't have asked for a more caring bunch of people to care for him ( and us) From the cleaning
staff up to the Admin ( Tracey) & Manager (Anish) and every single person in-between. A very special mention to the Nurse Clavel who was a rock throughout. - Thank you everyone, you've all been so kind. You are all ambassadors to your profession.
BUPA you should be very proud of these staff!

After having a major operation I booked The Lawns for 2 wks to recouperate. From day one everyone was welcoming and so very helpful. It was so reassuring to have proper nurses along with the wonderful staff, it made my stay very relaxing and gave me time to recover. The morning lady is definitely made
for this job, she doesn't just do a job, she really cares and goes over and above with care and making sure you are well looked after. There was lots of different meals made by the wonderful kitchen staff. So all in all a really good decision to choose The Lawns. Very well run.

At the beginning of the month, Mum had a couple of episodes which left her on the floor of her home overnight. She asked to go into a home, so the search began.
I contacted BUPA. Their advisers were so helpful and arranged a visit for me to see around Hutton Village Care Home. I thought it was perfect
for Mum. She wanted to see her room, so I took her, and she too was impressed. She's only been there 1 week, but she loves it. Calls it a hotel. Everyone is so helpful and caring. The food is great too. 10/10 so far.

Mum has been a resident for 3 years & has settled in ok. The food is good, with lots of choice, and I appreciate the friendly, welcome from the staff when I visit her. I think they do a superb job in sometimes challenging circumstances. The activities team arrange a selection of activities & outings,
with taxis booked to accommodate wheelchair users. The gardens are lovely to sit in on sunny days.

Overall very satisfied with Hutton Village Care Home. The care my uncle receives is great, the nurses and carers are friendly, will help with anything you ask for. He can have a joke with some of them which cheers him up.
Very professional and keep me informed if my uncle has to have anything done
or if he's very poorly.

My brother cannot be in a better place - he is well looked after and all the staff are friendly and kind.. This review is to say 'Thank you' to you all. He had a birthday recently, and the lovely chef made him a delicious birthday cake. His room door was decorated with birthday banners and balloons.
Thank you all for everything you do for him, and for all the residents to brighten up each day. Well done!

Croft House provides a very warm, caring environment for our loved ones, who are all felt to be part of a big family. My mother was bought into Croft in August for respite following a bad fall. She has improved dramatically since being here and really benefitted from the loving care she has received
from all members of staff. She has now decided to become a permanent resident as she is very happy here and we couldn't ask for more. From the carers, nursing staff, kitchen, entertainment and admin, reception & management staff everyone shines through. Mum is enjoying and participating in all the activities and recently joined the choir. It's so lovely to see how settled she is and improving both physically and mentally. Thank you Croft House for really making a difference to Mum's life and for welcoming both her and us into the Croft family.
The only thing that lets it down a little is the limited parking space but even this is managed well and nothing is too much trouble for anyone.

My mother came to Croft House for end of life care after a traumatic 6 weeks in hospital. From then on a cloud lifted from us as family. She was made as comfortable as possible and her pain was managed as well as it was able. Nursing and caring staff were extremely attentive and supportive to us as
a family member going through a traumatic event. Our mother was able to pass away in dignity and peace.

After a very upsetting stay at a previous home, we are delighted with the care, attitude, help and friendliness from all the staff in Paxman house, since my mother in law moved in a few weeks ago. Everyone we have spoken to, from the reception, and office staff to all the care and nursing staff has
been so helpful. The food is lovely, and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. The cleanliness is good, and the facilities are also good. My Mother in law has just had her hair done in their salon, and was so happy after it. She is back to enjoying her food, and just generally seems to be in a much better place, than she has been for a while. They also have great activities for the residents to take part in, if they wish to do so. It also seems a safely run home, and seems to be secure at all times. We attended a meeting yesterday for Residents/visitors etc, and again were very happy with the way everything was explained to us by the staff, would recommend to anyone.
