Hutton Village Care Home

Very warm + friendly staff at HVCH. My relative enjoys the activities and has recently been out on the weekly outings. The food is good and is varied, with lots of options. There is a very nice vibe to HVCH, which is a credit to the staff. The grounds are well maintained and spacious and it is lovely to spend time outside, weather permitting

Room is always clean and tidy and care is first class!

Initial review prior to and on day of admission - further reviews will be posted in the fullness of time. Chose of the basis of location and published reviews. Wanted to visit before deciding whether to place my wife in their care and just turned up without any appointment. Was immediately impressed with the reception received by receptionist and the person nominated to show me around. This +ve impression remained throughout the tour relating to the cleanliness,tidiness and maintenance of the building and also with the members of staff met throughout. Based on this i had no hesitation in seeking to place my wife in their care and fortunately they were able to accommodate her in the same week. On transfer from hospital both my and my wife's impression did not change from that prior to admission. If anything they are even more +ve as the admission process was well organised and efficient. Those employees met during her 1st day gave us both the impression that she will be well cared for

It has always been a pleasure to visit. The staff are always pleasant, helpful and smiling.

My dad was only in Hutton Village for his final month but we could not have wished for better care for him. Every member of staff we met was so kind, polite and so helpful to dad and us as a family. While we couldn't be with him we knew he was getting the best care he could have. When we were with him we were never made to feel we were in the way and everyone made every effort to answer our questions and help us.

Ww feel that the staff at Hutton Village are very caring and professional - the home is very clean and well looked after - there are lovely gardens - the activities are well planned and enjoyable and happen every afternoon. We feel confident because the nursing staff oversee everything and are very approachable if there is a query. There is an excellent weekly GP visit.

When you enter the home, you are greeted by Margaret, who is a very pleasant lady. We have a laugh with her, just like all the staff, but being efficient at the same time. Ruth runs a good ship; everyone is there to help.

Again, staff friendly and supportive.

I contacted BUPA. Their advisers were so helpful and arranged a visit for me to see around Hutton Village Care Home. I thought it was perfect for Mum. She wanted to see her room, so I took her, and she too was impressed. She's only been there 1 week, but she loves it. Calls it a hotel. Everyone is so helpful and caring. The food is great too. 10/10 so far.

Mum has been a resident for 3 years & has settled in ok. The food is good, with lots of choice, and I appreciate the friendly, welcome from the staff when I visit her. I think they do a superb job in sometimes challenging circumstances. The activities team arrange a selection of activities & outings, with taxis booked to accommodate wheelchair users. The gardens are lovely to sit in on sunny days.

Very professional and keep me informed if my uncle has to have anything done or if he's very poorly.

The staff are caring, patient, professional, but above all they are so understanding, ready with a cuddle and so creative in dealing with Mum.

Since she has been in Hutton Village, we have been able to relax knowing she is looked after.

Mum has at Hutton Village nearly two years now and really likes the home. Thanks to all carers, nurses, catering, admin, cleaning, laundry, and maintenance staff who work so hard to take care of her and contribute greatly to her well being. The activities are excellent; thoughtfully organised for stimulation and variety. The other residents are friendly too.

Warm and welcoming with professional and kind staff. A real family atmosphere. Very clean, good food considering that a wide range of tastes have to be catered for. Daily optional activities for the residents with lots of variation. Pleasant physical environment with a nice, well kept and spacious garden. Heated garden summer house can be reserved at no additional cost. Regular GP visits (weekly). The biggest asset are the lovely staff.

Dad was reluctant to leave his own home, but after he had a stroke it became obvious that he needed full time care. He was transferred from the hospital suffering from deep bed sores but the nursing care he received was wonderful and this issue was resolved. After just a few weeks he settled in and was well looked after until he sadly passed away. Although unable to move independently, he was encouraged to join in all of the activities, and this became the highlight of the day. All of the Hutton Village team from management, carers, nurses, activity coordinators and kitchen staff certainly made his last 2 years enjoyable, he loved all the staff and had no complaints about the care he received. It gave me great comfort that he was well looked after and I appreciate everything all the staff involved gave to make him feel at home.

We bought our mother, frail, not eating, drinking, staying in bed, apart from the toilet, in and she is a different lady. Mum is doing everything she wasn't and more. The carers are amazing, mum is so well looked after and all my doubts have disappeared.

All staff have been very helpful and accommodating from the outset. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They have been very kind to my mother and have very quickly become aware of her character, her likes and dislikes.

The activities team decorate the home beautifully for various occasions for example Christmas, Valentine's Day, St Patrick's Day etc. Which went down well with mum.
